CITY OF CLEVELAND Mayor Frank G. Jackson Welcome! Dear Clevelanders, I converted the City of Cleveland’s 22 recreation centers into Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Centers in 2019 as part of a holistic plan to connect families, youth, adults and seniors to center-based employment service, recreational programs, educational advancement opportunities and more. In addition, we completed a facilities assessment with capital improvements aimed at providing better services to Cleveland neighborhoods. We see a good number of community members taking advantage of these resources. Our centers provide programming that not only strengthens our neighborhoods, but also addresses the root cause of violence and Welcome from the toxic stress in our communities. In addition to traditional sports and recreational activities, NRRCs provide holistic programming and resources such as educational options, career preparation and much more. NRRC’s also offer Social Support Services Specialists assigned to our facilities who can help individuals and families access free resources and support services to help them achieve a better quality of life. These resources and support services range from connecting and referring individuals to appropriate services for medical issues, long-term counseling, public assistance, student loans, housing assistance and other public entitlements to providing short-term counseling to youth and families. When I created these programs, I created them with the entire family in mind and I hope you continue to take advantage of our services. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your mayor for the past 16 years. I look forward to watching our city grow, prosper, and create greater equity among the citizens of Cleveland. Sincerely, Frank G. Jackson Mayor, City of Cleveland Mission Statement We are committed to improving the quality of life in the City of Cleveland by strengthening our neighborhoods, delivering superior services, embracing the diversity of our citizens, and making Cleveland a desirable, safe city in which to live, work, raise a family, shop, study, play and grow old. www.clevelandohio.gov/NRRCactivities | 5

COVID-19 Mitigation Health and Safety Measures November 24, 2021 WEAR GLOVES AND MASK Dear City of Cleveland Residents, As you are aware, COVID-19 has presented unique challenges to the health and well-being of people around the world. We appreciate how much each of you has already done to adapt during this challenging time. For the past few months, we’ve all followed the COVID-19 health and safety mitigation measures to win this fight against the virus. As a result of our collective efforts, we’ve begun to realize some positive outcomes. Although it is very exciting to see the progress we’ve made, this KEEP SAFE pandemic is not over. The number of new COVID-19 cases reported DISTANCE in the City of Cleveland still remain high. In addition, variants of the virus have been detected in the City of Cleveland and across the State of Ohio. These variants are known to spread more quickly and easily; and therefore, may lead to an increase in cases of the virus. In light of all of these factors, the City of Cleveland will continue to require all NRRC staff and visitors to follow established COVID-19 mitigation health and safety guidelines. Please be certain to carefully review the Health and Safety Measures for NRRC Guests section of this guide before visiting one of the NRRCs. If you have any questions and/or concerns pertaining to this matter, SANITIZE please contact your local NRRC for more information. HANDS Important Note: Please remember that one of the most effective weapons we have in this fight against the virus is vaccination. The Food and Drug Administration has approved the Pfizer vaccine and granted Emergency Use Authorization for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to prevent COVID-19. Individuals ages 12 and up are eligible to receive any of the three vaccines. Children age 5-11 can get the Pfizer vaccine. For more information about the vaccine; to schedule an appointment; or to find out where you can get vaccinated, contact the City of Cleveland COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center at (216) 664-2222. Health and Safety Measures for NRRC Guests As a part of our efforts to ensure the health and safety of all of our guests, the following health and safety measures have been established. All guests are required to adhere to the guidelines. Guests that refuse to comply with the guidelines will be prohibited from entering or remaining in the facility. • Any guest experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should remain home and contact your health care provider for guidance and direction. COVID-19 symptoms include—cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; or at least two (2) of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell. • All visitors will have their temperature taken by electronic device upon entering the facility. Adults with temperatures 100.4 or above will be prohibited from using recreation services. Adult visitors will be advised to consult his/her medical physician. Youth ages 17 and under with an elevated temperature will have their guardian notified immediately. • All visitors with elevated temperatures will be prohibited from using recreational services for a minimum of 10 days. • All guests will be required to wear a mask or facial covering. Facial coverings are required to be worn at all times except during active physical programming such as basketball, baseball, swimming, etc. Guests will be required to secure their own masks. • Guests are asked to wash your hands often using soap and water for twenty (20) seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer. For your convenience, we’ve added several hand sanitizer stations in each NRRC. • Guests will be required to adhere to social distancing guidelines—remaining 6ft. apart unless participating in competitive programing or activities. When not participating in competitive programming, individuals must avoid physical contact with others including high fives, huddles or any other close contact occurring before, during and after all activities. • Admittance to the pool area will be granted on a first come first serve basis. However, in observance of social distancing guidelines, the number of individuals allowed in the pool/pool area at any given time will be limited. • Locker rooms will be open for all facility users and showers are available for public use. • In an effort to minimize the spread of the virus, guests will no longer be allowed to input their PEAK number into the PEAK system using the keypad. The front desk staff member will be required to sign in each guest. Again, please note that these guidelines were developed in an effort to keep all of our guests and employees safe. Additional Health and Safety Guidelines could be instituted based on COVID-19 infection rates. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Again, if you have any questions and/or concerns pertaining to the changes noted above, please contact your local NRRC for further guidance and information. www.clevelandohio.gov/NRRCactivities | 9
