REGENERATE 2020 – Course Outline Day One Seminar 1 – The Anthropocene - Causes, Consequences & Solutions We are in the midst of a perfect storm involving top soil loss, mismanagement of water, increasing chemical use, loss of biodiversity, an insect Armageddon, nitrogen abuse, rapid extinction and, of course, the spectre of climate change. However, challenges produce opportunities. In this fascinating presentation, you will discover multiple positive strategies to address this challenge, and you will understand the dynamics and rationale of Nutrition Farming®. Seminar 2 – Regenerative Ag - Drivers for Change What do you want for your operation? What questions bring you to this school? And what is an investment into vibrant healthy systems worth to you? Seminar 3 – Mindsets & Paradigms - Enterprise Impacts How paradigms and mindset influence the way we see the world, and the actions and outcomes that become possible. Seminar 4 – Harnessing Humus In this presentation we will consider the role of agriculture in climate change, the urgency of a viable game-plan to address global warming and the powerful link between soil biology and planetary health. Seminar 5 – Putting Theories Into Practice - Case Studies Hear how applying regenerative soil health approaches create efficient, profitable, resilient and enjoyable farming businesses. Seminar 6 – Soil Therapy™ Explained - Mechanics of Mineral Management Learn how to interpret a soil test. Recognise key mineral ratios and identify appropriate inputs best suited to your enterprise. Seminar 7 – Limiting Factors - Minerals, Microbes, OM, Mindset or Management By applying the 5M’s to issues, identify what is putting a drag on your land, enabling you to take off the brakes. Creating low- input farming systems which work FOR you. Seminar 8 – The Nitrogen Necessity - Optimising the Mismanaged Mineral Nitrogen is the most abundant mineral in the plant and also the most mismanaged. It is a major contributor to greenhouse gases and waterway contamination, which is why we must learn to manage this mineral more effectively.
REGENERATE 2020 – Course Outline Day Two Seminar 1 – Teaming with Microbes Who are the major microbial players and what are their roles in soil? Delving into Viruses, Bacteria, Fungi, Protozoa and Nematodes. Seminar 2 – Microbial Tests (Haney, PLFA & DIrect Microscopy) How to measure your biological livestock and avoid any sampling pitfalls. There are multiple laboratories with different testing methods. Learn what the pros and cons of these techniques are, and how these results can give you insights into the health of your land. Workshop – Who Am I? (Microbes) A team exercise to identify key microbes and their role in the soil food web. Seminar 3 – Calcium, Boron, Silicon - Understanding the Protective Trio Understand the significance of calcium, the single most important mineral for soil structure and plant resilience. Discover the critical influence of the two calcium synergists: boron and silicon. Seminar 4 – Magnesium and Sulphur Understand the significance of these minerals in soil, animal and human health. Magnesium is the central molecule in chlorophyll, the factory for the building block of all life. Sulphur is magnesium’s sidekick and will also be discussed in depth. Seminar 5 – Potassium and Sodium Potassium is the second most abundant mineral in the plant and is the nutrient that has most impact upon plant yield. Sodium is generally only thought of when in excess and is not considered a plant essential element. Both K and Na work together in cells. Learn how to manage both minerals more efficiently. Seminar 6 – Human Microbe Management The 30-foot tube that is your digestive tract houses multiple microbes that determine your immunity, nutrition and wellness. Also learn how to make your own super-protective, fermented food.
REGENERATE 2020 – Course Outline Day Three Workshop – Microbes (major groups & what they do) A fun review session to get us moving and connecting with our microbial underground livestock. Seminar 1 – Monitoring Tools - The Key to Precision Nutrition In this segment, you will discover the many benefits of in- field monitoring. Testing plant sap with a variety of hand-held monitoring tools can give you a much greater insight into the requirements of your crop. This allows the precision nutrition that is the essence of the Nutrition Farming® approach. Fingertip control of nutrition provides greater yields and less pest pressure. Seminar 2 – Understanding Humates - The Importance of Humic & Fulvic Acid Discover more about the intricacies of humic and fulvic acids, and learn how and why to use these invaluable inputs. Seminar 3 – Practical Applications of Biological Inputs - Seed Physiology & Optimising Quorum Signals Plants and microbes are in constant communication. What practical methods can we use to harness this communication, and how does this influence plant growth, health and resilience? Seminar 4 – Mastering Micronutrients - Trace Mineral Nutrition Unveiling the links to trace mineral nutrition in the soil, plants, animals and humans.. Seminar 5 – The Impact of Farm Chemicals on Plant Physiology & Epigenetics What is the full cost of farm chemicals to you? What is epigenetics, and how does this impact on plant and animal performance? Hear some of the breakthrough research which shows that many ag-chem alter gene expression in plants, animals and us, putting systems onto a treadmill of increasing inputs and decreasing yields. Seminar 6 & 7 – Seven Life-Changing Strategies (Parts 1 & 2) Two 60-minute presentations that feature cutting-edge research and strategies to ensure a longer, healthier, happier life. Healthy farms need healthy farmers and these two invaluable presentations are designed to achieve that goal.
REGENERATE 2020 – Course Outline Day Four Seminar 1 – Foliar Fertilising - The Power of Direct Inject Foliar fertilising provides a direct nutrition route into the plant. In this seminar, you will explore the many benefits of this technique. Seminar 2 – Phosphorus - What Drives Efficacy? Covering the soil and plant dynamics of phosphorus. This mineral is a key player in photosynthesis, disease protection and the flavour of fresh food. How do we optimise the P cycle? Workshop – Whodunnit Game (Monitoring Tools) In-field monitoring allows the precision nutrition required for high production agriculture. This workshop involves developing an understanding of the interplay between various monitoring tools. Seminar 3 – Missing Minerals (Human Health) In this Human Health segment, we will consider the critical importance of the four minerals that are most often missing.
