Objectives u This document has been prepared to assist owners and managers of stables and/or eques- trian clubs to operate their business in a manner that is safe and compliant with the directives of the Direction de la santé publique du Québec. u Note that when information relates to one or more specific alert levels, one or several colored dots precede the information. u Due to the evolving nature of the current situation, updates to this tool will be prepared and distributed as needed. General Information u Authorized activities: Outside Supervised activities including lessons and guided hikes, limited to a group of 8 people, in addition to the coach/instructor; Free practice by occupants of the same residence; Supervised activities including lessons and guided hikes, limited to a group of 8 people, in addition to the coach/instructor; Free practice by occupants of the same residence; Inside Supervised activities including lessons, limited to one person or to occupants of the same residence, in addition to the coach/instructor; Free practice by occupants of the same residence; Essential care to horses. u Unauthorized activities: Inside and outside Competitions Presence of spectators; Extracurricular activities u Maximum number of areas (indoor or outdoor riding area, barn, etc.) on a site: no limit u Area: delimited space with distinct entry and exit and well controlled access which easily 4 allows all persons present to respect 2m physical distancing
General Information (cont’d) u Maximum number of persons in each area at the same time: determined by the manager u Person: a participant, a person accompanying a participant, an employee, a volunteer or a service provider u Person accompanying a participant: Adult accompanying a minor participant or a person with a disability u Inter-regional movement: Not recommanded u Favor outdoor spaces u Sport concentration and Sport-études: Sport-studies and concentration Sport are allowed, inside and outside, in organized practice or in training only, while respecting the strict application of distancing measures and the absence of contact between the participants. u Extracurricular activities and school trips: Not authorized 5
General Instructions for All (see poster at the end of this document) u Respect physical distancing of 2m when moving or when people or spectators are not seated; u Respect instructions about movement; u Respect instructions concerning the use of equipment and bathrooms; u Wash your hands frequently; u Do not touch your eyes or mouth with your hands; u Sneeze and cough into your elbow; u Throw away tissues immediatly after use; u Wearing a face cover is mandatory for people 10 years of age and over at all times (on arrival and when moving) in indoor locations except during the equestrian activity (riding or driving). In addition, wearing a face cover is strongly recommended but not mandatory for children from 2 to 10 years old. u Avoid touching animals that do not belong to you; u Do not come to the stable if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, if you have COVID-19 or if you have been in close contact with a symptomatic person or a person placed in isolation due to COVID-19. 6
Work Team Manager p The owner or manager of the stable and/or equestrian club must evaluate their offer of ser- vice (facility capacity, schedule, services), taking into account the capacity to respect or make employees respect sanitary instructions. Access to each area Persons present p A person at the entrance should limit access if necessary and verify that people who access the stable do not have symptoms by asking them questions and observing them; p Maintain a daily register of people present by noting their arrival and departure times from the site and adding to the register their telephone number or other contact details; p Provide a protocol for when a person’s access is denied. 8
COVID-19 Symptoms and Special Measures Symptoms are the same as those of the flu or colds and include a rise in temperature. Material p Have a first aid kit that includes protective equipment (gloves, masks and eye protection or visors, gown, resealable bags and alcohol-based solution 60% - 70%); p Provide employees and volunteers with the necessary personal protective equipment in suffi- ciant quantities. Isolation p Identify a space to isolate a person that develops symptoms. p Appoint and train one or more members of the team to accompany a person presenting with symptoms until they leave the site; p Know and display the Info Coronavirus phone number, 1 877 644-4545. 9
