AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Online Admission Process 2021-22 STEP 1 Choose option “Students Login” from menu bar on https://cms.dnyanasadhanacol lege.org/ STEP 2 Username, GI Number and Password If students does not remember then use “Forgot Password” option. STEP 3 For In-House admission (e.g. 11th to 12th, FY to SY, SY to TY, PG1 to PG2) students need to click Admissions-2021 icon. This option would appear only for students who have successfully cleared earlier standard or year. STEP 4 Required to select appropriate program, subject preference and fill all required fields. 2
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Online Admission Process 2021-22 STEP 5 The screen would display existing uploaded photograph and signature from college database. Otherwise student needs to upload photograph and signature, as per given specification. STEP 6 Depending on student’s category or gender program fees would appear on the screen. Needs to click “Proceed” button to make payment of fees through online mode. STEP 7 Pa y m e n t g a t e w a y s c r e e n would appear for online fees payment. On sucessful receipt of fees payment by college, student would receive Program Fees receipt by email and confirmation SMS. 3

AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 About the College Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College, a Premier Education Institute, is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1960, on 2ndJuly 1980. The Junior College was recognized by the nd Education Department, Government of Maharashtra by an order dated 22 October 1980. By th virtue of natural growth a full fledged Degree College was started on 13 June 1983. The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and is recognized by UGC 2(f) & 12 B. It is reaccreditated 'B +' Grade (CGPA 2.69 3rd cycle completed) by NAAC. The College has faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce on aided basis and 1) B.Sc. Computer Science, 2) B.Sc. Information Technology, 3) B.A. Multimedia and Mass Communication 4) Bachelor of Management Studies, 5) B.Com. (Accounts and Finance), 6) B.Com. (Banking and Insurance) and 7) Bachelor of Arts (Film, Television & New Media Production) on unaided basis. The college has fully qualified and competent teaching staff and adequate non-teaching staff. The building is located off Eastern Express Highway, Dnyanasadhana Marg, Thane (West). The College complex is spread over a plot of 2.2 acres with built-up space of about 93000 sq.ft. It offers all modern amenities needed for all-round development of the students' personality. It is accessible from Thane railway station by auto rickshaw and city bus. The institution also offers modern facilities such as library, reading room, internet club, auditorium, well equipped computer labs with digital overhead projectors, gymkhana, state of the art gymnasium, Audio- Visual room, to mention a few. Students can pursue their M.Com. in a) Business Management, b) Advanced Accountancy and M.Sc. in Chemistry (By Paper & By Research) as well as in Botany (By Paper). The college also has a research centre for Ph.D. in Chemistry and Commerce. The college is also a centre for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The aim of the college is to encourage and promote education to all sections of society, especially the socially and economically backward and weaker sections of society. Library The college library has a vast collection of more than 77000 books covering various fields of interest in social sciences, humanities and pure sciences. Out of which approximately 18500 books are in Marathi. It has separate collection of Audio, Video materials like CDs, DVDs etc. It has subscriptions of over 110 periodicals which include academic journals out of which two are in brail script and popular magazines of general interest and 19 newspapers. In addition to this, the library provides access to thousands of e-resources through N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) and other databases. The library is fully computerized and students can access the collection through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The reading room of the library provides facility to 300 students at a time. A separate section equipped with required resources has been developed for the students preparing for competitive examinations. 5
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Book Bank The library provides textbooks to economically backward and Reserve Category students under the Book Bank Scheme. Every year, approximately 300 students avail of this facility. Students may contact the librarian for membership of the Book Bank Scheme. The Last date for st enrolment is 31 July. Scholar Card for Advanced Learners The first 20 merit holders from each faculty are honoured with a scholar card which entitles them to two additional reference books for home issue from the Library. Internet Club (Knowledge Resource Centre) The college has a Knowledge Resource Centre that every student can avail of. The College has subscribed to N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) by which students can access 7500 e-books and 2700 e-Journals. Laboratories The college has well equipped and spacious laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology and Computer Science for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Insurance Every Student is insured for a maximum limit of lakh by paying a nominal premium of 80/- per academic year. It covers accident and death. Self Enhancement In addition to academic pursuit of the students, there are associations, clubs and groups, which conduct programmes, seminars and workshops for overall development of students, including leadership qualities and social awareness. The convener or the programme officer, involve the students to develop various skills. The Art Circle conducts various competitions to 6
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 encourage students to participate in the annual social gathering, 'Utopia' (Degree College), 'Indradhanu' (Junior College), intercollegiate events, state and national level competitions organised by the University of Mumbai. The college gymkhana provides facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The college encourages the students to participate in intercollegiate events at district and above levels, by providing specialised coaching facilities. The students who prove their merit are considered for scholarships. National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) The National Service Scheme unit is recognised by University of Mumbai and conducts its program under the joint guidance of University of Mumbai and University Grants Commission. The purpose of the NSS unit is to sensitize the student to the socio-economic conditions of the weaker sections of the society. The purpose is also to provide the student with opportunities to participate in urban and rural activities and the upliftment of the deprived class. The activities include Swachhata Abhiyan, Street plays, rallies, tree plantation, yoga day and observing various important days of national and international significance. This includes a compulsory attendance at seven day residential camp in the chosen rural area. The NSS office is located on the 4th floor. Enrollment is strictly by selection. 10 marks are awarded by the university at the end of the year subject to the completion of duties by the student as an NSS volunteer. National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.): (Girls and Boys) The College has inaugurated the N.C.C. Unit in 2007 and the Boys Unit in 2009. The Total strength to be enrolled in a year in Girls' unit is 50 girl cadets and the Boys' unit is 60 boy cadets from XI, XII and First Year of Graduation. The interested students can enrol their names in the month of July and August in the N.C.C. office, fourth floor, Gymkhana, between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. The associate NCC Officers of both the units are LT. Chirivella Radhika (Girls Unit) and LT. DilipVasave (Boys Unit). Throughout the year the cadets are trained in drill, social services, lectures related to N.C.C. syllabus, firing and map reading. They attend Combine Annual Training Camps, Thal Sainik Camps, Republic Day Camp-group selection and National camps such as mountaineering, Trekking, Rock climbing, Scuba diving, Para-basic/sailing, Medical, Army Attachment, National Integration camp, Personality Development camp, TSC, RDC, etc. Civil Defence The Civil Defence units of both senior and junior college train students to render their services to civilians during a crisis. The students also appear for Basic Certificate Examination. 7
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Students' Welfare Fund The fund is utilised to provide assistance to the needy and deserving students and to provide necessary equipments and other facilities for all round development of the students. Internal Complaint Committee As per UGC regulations (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal of Sexual Harrassment of women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) of 2015, college has constituted Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) for dealing with the issues of Gender Based Violence on campus. ICC is a statutory body and is committed to create its college campus free from discrimination, harassment, retaliation or sexual assault at all levels. College conducts various Gender sensitization programmes through Women Development Cell. Dr. S.V. Ketkar Dr. S.P. Banerjee Convener, Internal Complaint Committee Member, Internal Complaint Committee (Mobile No. 9821478171) (Mobile No. 9987402092) Gymkhana We have a spacious gymkhana on the fourth floor admeasuring 25 mtrs X 10 mtrs. which is being utilized for various indoor sports namely Carom, Chess Table Tennis etc. Apart from this, recently procured multipurpose mattresses will lead to increased participation in indoor activities like Wrestling, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo as well as Kabaddi. We also have two separate gymnasiums for boys and girls with adequate equipments which is an icing on the cake for fitness savvy students as none of the colleges within the vicinity have such a well-endowed indoor facility. Our players have shown their mark in many tournaments of University of Mumbai such as Kho- Kho, Kabaddi, Football, Handball, Table Tennis as well as number of individual medals at University level also. Students' Placement and Vocational Guidance Cell The above cell works to provide job opportunity to the students. Seminar and guidance letures are regularly arranged for enlightening students about various career courses and information about job placement. Student Activity Centre The Student Activity Centre conducts workshops for creative arts and performing arts e.g. dance, dramatics. Music (vocal), personal grooming, painting, handicraft making, rangoli, banking and culinary skills etc. Special training is given to develop anchoring skills. 8
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Counseling Cell The students can avail aptitude/interest/adjustment tests provided by the career guidance and counseling cell of the college. The Counselor, Mr. Shishir Lele is incharge of the cell for junior college and Dr. Seema Ketkar for senior college. Women Development Cell The Women Development Cell works with the objective of helping girl students in need. The cell deals with sexual harassment at any level, stress and any kind of trauma. Ragging Prevention Cell The college has raging prevention cell. Any Student or Parent or Guardian can lodge a complaint, in writing, of ragging to the Principal. Any student whodirectly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside the Institution and if found guilty shall be dismissed from the college. Ms. V.N. AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Important Information to the Students Seeking Admission (All Students/Parents/Guardians should read carefully and understand) 1. Students seeking admission from other colleges should have passed in all subjects and obtained No Objection Certificate (N.O.C.) from the last college attended. 2. Students should note that all admissions will be as per prevailing University rules/ Board rules and Government norms and will be provisional till confirmed by the authorities. 3. Students seeking admission at F.Y. in any stream should verify the subjects available at T. Y. level. College shall offer only those subjects or combinations which are mentioned in the prospectus. 4. All parents/guardians must sign the admission form after going through and understanding the rules, regulations and code of conduct governing their wards. 5. Students who do not submit original mark sheet, passing certificate and leaving certificate and other necessary documents will not be granted admission and if granted, all such admissions will be provisional. 6. If any educational information and documents submitted by students are found to be false or misleading, it will call for legal action and expulsion from the college. (Note: In case of any disputes, the decision of the Principal will be final and binding.) Rules to be Followed by Students 1. Every student must possess a valid Identity Card issued to him/her by the college authorities, with photograph bearing the signature of the Principal. The card must be kept on display (either with a sling or clip or worn around the neck). Any student without a valid College Identity Card will not be permitted to enter the college premises. 2. Students' attendance in lectures, practicals, field visits is compulsory as per University guidelines. Accordingly, every student must attend at least 75% of the total number of lectures. Attendance for tutorials/practicals, all the class tests, assignments engaged in each term of the respective academic year is compulsory. 3. Students remaining absent during lectures, practicals or examination on medical grounds must submit medical certificate to the vice principal/course co-ordinator or parent teacher or Examination committee convener immediately after the examination. 4. Students are required to be present in classroom well in time. 5. All students should maintain strict silence in the corridors, classrooms and library hall. 6. Every student is responsible for taking care of the college property and maintaining cleanliness of the premises. 10
AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 7. While representing the college in workshops, seminars, excursion, field visits, internships etc. all students should, follow utmost discipline and decorum. 8. Every student should read the notices displayed by the college from time to time. Any ignorance or failure on their part to read the notices will not be excused. 9. Library books, periodicals etc. should be handled carefully. Any damage or loss of books by the students should be compensated for within 7 days. 10. All students are informed that they must carefully fill examination forms on or before the due date notified. All T.Y. students should note that their form submission as per university guidelines is online. 11. All students and their parents should note that discipline is of utmost priority in gaining admission to the college and that discipline must be maintained by students throughout their tenure in this college. 12. Any student failing to attend the college for 75% of the total number of lectures/ tutorials/practicals engaged during the academic year is liable for disciplinary action resulting in cancellation of his/her admission. 13. Students are prohibited from bringing mobile phones or any kind of valuables in college premises. The college will not be held responsible in case of loss of the same. 14. Students must not misuse blackboards, disfigure walls and windows, tamper with furniture and fittings or cause any damage to the college property directly or indirectly. Otherwise cost for damages will be collected from students by charging common breakage. 15. Students are not allowed to communicate any information or write to the press about matters related to the college administration without prior permission of the Principal. 16. Any act of tarnishing the reputation of the college or teachers will be viewed seriously. 17. Students are strictly prohibited from collecting funds in the name of the college. 18. Any student found guilty of disobedience, misconduct or misbehavior or any other act of serious indiscipline, is liable either to lose his term or face expulsion from the college. 19. Students involved in any kind of violent behaviourinside and outside college campus will be handed over to the police. 20. Students indulging in malpractices of whatsoever nature including use of unfair means at the examinations will be liable for disciplinary action as per the rules and procedures laid down by Maharashtra Universities Act. 1994 and the Government of Maharashtra Act No. XXXI of 1982. 11

AIDED PROSPECTUS 2021-2022 Admission Rules (Eligibility Documents) For F.Y. classes, in-house students will be admitted on priority. 1. The student seeking admission under Category-1 [Caste/Tribe/Class] must produce caste certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Maharashtra, failing which, their claim for admission will not be entertained under the Specified Category. Students migrating from other States/Boards and claiming admission on the basis of reserved categories may be considered only if they submit caste-validating certificate from the competent authority of Maharashtra State. 2. Students seeking admission under Category II (A & B) ref. Page No. 22 should produce true copy of documentary evidence issued by appropriate authorities of the Government, failing which their claim for admission will not be entertained under the Specified Category. In case of the 3% seats reserved for Sports, Games, Cultural, competitions conducted and sponsored by the government will be considered. Copy of such certificates countersigned by the District Sports Officer (DSO), should be submitted along with the Admission Form. It is mandatory for students who have been admitted under 3% Sports and Games Category, to participate in the college events/teams. 3. Forms will be issued and accepted as per the schedule notified on the College Notice Board. There are separate counters for different categories and the parents/ students should submit their Admission Forms at the respective counter, otherwise their claim will be considered in the Open Category. 4. Merit list with date and time will be put up on the College Notice Board. Along with the Application Form at the time of admission self-attested copies of the documents mentioned nd on page 2 are to be submitted. 5. Students who have been merit-listed for admission, must complete the admission formalities by paying the fees and submitting the required documents as per the time and schedule notified, failing which their claim for admission will stand forfeited. 6. Students/parents are requested to fill in the Admission Form very clearly indicating the category of reservation, i.e. caste, freedom fighters, sports, etc., to which they belong, by indicating the code number or ticking the appropriate block. In case, the information is not applicable, they are requested to write N.A. Those who desire of availing leave Travel Concession, i.e. Long Journey Railway Concession, should write their Home Town address in the Admission Form at the time of admission, failing which no application for long journey Railway Concession will be entertained. 9. Other requirements, if any, will be displayed on the 'College Notice-Board'. Admission Procedure: 1. F.Y.B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. admissions will be as per the directives issued by the University of Mumbai from time to time, and subject to availability of seats in the college. Normally, inhouse students are admitted on priority. 2. Students seeking admission to the three year integrated course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce, B.A. Multimedia & Mass Communication, B.M.S., Computer Science, Banking and Insurance, Accounts and Finance, must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (SYJC) Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai or an examination recognized as equivalent with subjects, as may be specified by the University in Arts, Science or Commerce streams. 3. Students passing an examination equivalent to S.Y.J.C., of the Higher Secondary Board, Mumbai and Inter-Mediate (Arts/Science/Commerce) of University Boards & seeking admission to the F.Y. of the Three Year Integrated Degree Course will be Admitted only on production of a "Provisional Eligibility Certificate", issued by the University of Mumbai. Such students should submit a migration certificate, statement of marks and passing certificate in original along with true copies within two months, from the date of admission, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled. 4.
