My knowledge in tikanga Māori I have found very useful in my current job and a lot of the staff I work ask for advice and I have shared some of my knowledge in staff meetings. I recommend making use of the learning support which is offered as it really helps you to achieve high marks and you get one-on-one tuition - all included in your fees. Wonderful supportive staff! The tikanga and te reo gave me a sense of belonging and made me feel comfortable sharing and learning. At one stage, students weren’t sure about their pepeha. The tutors worked through a process to make everyone feel comfortable with this part of their studies. The tutors were calm and supportive. If you were not active, you were contacted and offered support. The Zoom hui were short sharp and to the point. These can be organised with the tutor for one-on-one consultations along with emailing and the class forum.
