Registration for the 2020-2021 school year will begin on January 25th. Preschool Open House January 25th, 10am-12noon. See page 6 for details. The Bartlett Park District preschool is a DCFS licensed program that serves children from ages three to five including classrooms for Young 3’s, 3 year olds, 4 year olds, and Pre Kindergarten. This recreational program is a play based early childhood educational program. We strongly believe in meeting the needs of the whole child and provide a curriculum that will prepare your child for later school success. Our goal is to plan daily experiences that will help the child develop physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually in a fun and safe environment. We welcome you and your child to visit our school. You can tour the facility, meet the teachers, ask questions and preview the classes in session. Tours are by appointment only. Please contact the Preschool Coordinator at 630-540-4853 to set up your tour. 8 SPECIAL ACTIVITIES MAPLE SYRUPING Join us to learn how to tap maple trees and turn the sap into maple syrup. You will also learn about the history of tree tapping, weather conditions needed to get the sap, and how to transform raw sap into delicious maple syrup. Over breakfast, you will get to compare homemade maple syrup to store bought syrup. Dress for the weather, participants will be taken on a hike. Register early, space is limited. Adopt-A-Husky will be at the Bartlett Nature Center with their teams of Siberian Huskies and sleds. Come watch as they run our mile trail and learn about the history of dog sledding and the equipment they use. Other outdoor activities during Winterfest may include snow shoeing and snow painting. There will also be an Iditarod slideshow presentation and other indoor activities. To ensure a safe and fun environment, please leave your own dogs at home. SPECIAL ACTIVITIES 9 Disney’s Frozen Jr. youth theatre production Frozen Jr. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. 10 SCHOOL DAY OFF FUN Before and After Care Join us for Before and/or After Care. Children can be dropped off early and stay late for supervised care before and after day care at the Bartlett Nature Center. Activities will vary and the atmosphere will be safe and casual inside the building. Breakfast or snack must be brought by the child. The use of cell phones will only be allowed before entering or after leaving the building. If there is an emergency please notify the office and the child will be located. All registration closes, no exceptions, at 6pm Thursday prior to camp. (DM) Parents/guardians will be required to pay a late pick up fee of $5 if they are 1-10 minutes late; after 10 minutes the fee will be $1 per minute until the child is picked up. The late fee is per child. The person picking up the child will be handed a late pick up slip by the child’s instructor. The slip has to be signed by the person picking up the child and an invoice will be issued with the fee to be paid. Late fees are the responsibility of the parent/guardian, no matter who picks up the child. Day of Fun No school?
