From Israel, AGAN AROMA exhibited “moodo” which is a smart home fragrance diffuser which can be connected to your smartphone and users can put 4 different flagrances capsules into the machine and mix them to create completely unique own flavours. Ms. Inbal Dembo who is the product manager said “Many visitors from Japan and also other Asian countries came to our booth. This time was our start to develop Japanese and Asian market and the show has been really good for us.”.Moreover EBULOBO who is a baby & kids product manufacturer which their collection “Louloup”
is No. 1 Amazon for baby fabric book from France said “The fair was really excellent ! We could distribute 400 catalogues to retail stores and sign a new distribution program with a new distributor for Japan and also we meet our new partner for Korea. Definitely it was a really good decision to exhibit.”. ■ The Asian Business Hub for leading companies to further expand business. The show is also the best place to meet new customers for worldwide leading companies. From USA, Ty who provides stuffed animals well-known throughout the world for its red heart - shaped tag, was one of them. Mr. Hiro Masuki; the managing director said “Although Ty is really popular all around world, we need to be known more in Japan. We exhibited 2 years in a row and it is clear that more Japanese buyers are becoming aware of our brand. The show provided us opportunities to meet new customers such as many baby product companies and companies who have many chain stores, not only toy related buyers who are our present clients.” Also, POLESIE who is Belarus’ largest manufacturer of plastic toys, already sold in over 60 countries, met their Japanese distributor who is AKIRA CO. LTD. at their first year exhibiting. Mr. Uladzimir Kivaka who is the commercial director said that they met the Japanese distributor in 2016 and after that they continue to exhibit because it is always fruitful to be at the show. They meet not only Japanese clients but also clients from Indonesia, Philippines and Laos. He also mentioned that they keep growing just like this trade fair is becoming larger. POLESIE already decided to come back in next edition as usual. Like the above companies, many of exhibitors had acquired positive business results during the three-day show period, therefore most of them have rebooked for the next 2019 show. ■ DESIGN TOKYO PRODUCTS AWARD 2018 DESIGN TOKYO which transmits “marketable design” recently draw more attention from worldwide. DESIGN TOKYO PRODUCTS AWARD is held during DESIGN TOKYO and the GRAND PRIX / AWARD WINNING products are announced on the first day of the show. This year, the GRAND PRIX was given to “Smart measuring cup” from a Korean company, PETERS PANTRY. It can measure both the weight and volume automatically by displaying the amount in a digital figures on the handle. The balance of graphics and the usefulness of this product lead this measuring cup to being awarded the GRAND PRIX. ■ Concurrent shows also held with success. One of the unique aspects of LIFESTYLE EXPO TOKYO 2018 [July] is that it is co-held with ISOT 2018- 29th INTERNATIONAL STATIONERY & OFFICE PRODUCTS FAIR TOKYO and 10th MARKETING & SALES PROMOTION EXPO July. Both trade fairs attract a huge number of visitors. The “STATIONERY OF THE YEAR 2018” which is held during ISOT 2018 is a strong attraction and moreover, “the ISOT Stationery PR Committee” consisting of influencers who have strong impact on the industry, walked the show and selected hot and interesting products from exhibitors to promote on SNS / various media. SNS and media promotion are also one of the remarkable aspects of ISOT and will become more important. In MARKETING & SALES PROMOTION EXPO, conference was held in parallel to the exhibition. 17 sessions garnered high visitor satisfaction. Speeches by industry leaders covering the latest trends brought the conference to success. ■ Expectations for the next edition The next shows; LIFESTYLE EXPO TOKYO 2019 [January] / [June] will scale up and become even more international. Undoubtedly exhibitors are very much satisfied with the show in 2018, as reflected in the number of booking and reservation for our next show. Most of the exhibit spaces of the next editions were booked by the end of the show, mostly by satisfied exhibitors who aim to reserve a larger space for the next time, and also many new comers who see the potential.
