Kersboodskap 2017
Laat ons as Badisa-familie en -vriende hierdie Kersfees lig bring in
die donkerte van die kwesbares onder ons: die verwaarloosde
kind, die verwerpte vrou, die verstote persoon met gestremdheid
en die eensame bejaarde.
“Dit is goed dat ons met Kersfees so baie lig om ons sien,in strate
en winkels, in huise en tuine, op bome en geboue, op die
televisie; oral - versierings wat skitter, liggies wat flikker, kerse
wat brand. Dit is goed, want dit adem die atmosfeer van Advent.
Dit help skep die stemming van Kersfees. Met Kerksfees is daar
lig in die lug. Die Kind wat gebore is, ís immers die Lig van die
wêreld, die Son van geregtigheid, die blink Môrester, die Lig vir
hulle wat in duisternis woon. Advent is ‘n tyd vir lig, nie net óm
ons nie, maar diep ín ons, juis as die donker ons wil oorweldig.“

‘n Geseënde Kerksfees en voorspoedige 2018 vir julle almal

Christmas Lights
Due to high financial cost to maintain the rope lights we decided
to cancel the display for this year. Very disappointing but financial
reality. Dit is met heimwee dat ons besluit het om nie voort te
gaan met die Kersfees Liggies by Rusoord nie weens die koste van
instandhouding van die liggies.
Bring & Braai - Waterlemoen Fees 31 Jan 2018
Bring jou eie vleis, eie broodjie, eie stukkie wors en kom braai
saam met die al die ander inwoners. Daarna is dit waterlemoens
fees – eet soveel soos jy kan
Bosberaad for Management 2018 – 2020
The Management team will come together on the 12 January
2018 to define the business plan input for 2018 -2020 at the
Bosberaad for Board Members.

Bosberaad for Board Members 3 February 2018
The Board will be away for the Bosberaad 3 Feb 2018 to define
the strategy and plan, including the discussion of the propose
business plan tabled by our management team for the next 3
years for Rusoord. The focus will be service delivery, budget and
levies.

The first House Committee Meeting for 2018 will be on
Wednesday 31 Jan 2018 to discussed the propose budget and
levies.
Final Budget meetings with all residents
To finalize the input and advice from our residents via the small
groups and house committee regarding our budget and levies to
the Board Financial Committee. Residents of our buildings will
discussed the final budget and levies proposal to be tabled at the
Board Financial Committee as follows:

At a nursing home a group of seniors are sitting around
talking about their various ailments. “ My arms have
become so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee” One
says.
“Yes, I know,” another one says.”My cataracts are so bad I
can’t even see my coffee”
“What? Speak up! What? I can’t hear you” another one
says.
“My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy, I can hardly
walk” one pipes up.
“I forget where I am or where I’m going,” an elderly gent
says.
“I guess that’s the price we pay for getting old,” an old man
says, slowly shaking his head.
“Well, count your blessings”, an old lady says cheerfully.
“Thankfully we can all still drive.”

Rusoord Bazaar held on 2 December 2017
The Bazaar was once again a huge success and we owe it all to
you. Without all of our volunteers and donations this would not
have been possible.
We would like to thank each and every person who contributed
their time, goods or money to helping us create this wonderful
event.
Thank you to everyone who came out on the day to support
Rusoord and our Residents
Thank you to everyone who sponsored an Oldie to enjoy the
Bazaar care free.
We hope to see everyone at the Bazaar again next year.

Rusoord DSTV Bouquet Why pay
+- R900 per month if you can join
the Rusoord Bouquet for only R 390
per month. You get M-Net, movies,
sport channels as well as news
channels. We can only connect this
on the 01st of every month and
require a copy of your id, your decoder number and smart card
number to be able to connect you to the bouquet.
Stiltetyd / Quiet time @ Rusoord during January
When you leave the dining room after lunch please respect
your fellow neighbours and do not shout or talk loudly as you
walk the passages. Also staff you need to speak softly and tune
down your voices. We will issue brochures at reception and risk
management to facilitate our request for respect. We will also
announce quiet time for better coordination and to encourage our
residents, staff, friends and family to assist us. / Vriende
wanneer u die eetkamer verlaat, praat sag en respekteer u
vriende. Moet nie in die gange en portale kliphard praat nie – dit
is stiltetyd. Personeel draai ook julle volumes af. Gedurende
Oktober maand gaan ons ook elke naweek Saterdag en Sondag
afkondig dat stilte tyd begin sodat ons samwerking kan bevorder.
Ontvangs/Risikobestuur sal brosjures uitdeel waarin alle
besoekers versoek word om ons stiltetyd vanaf 13:00 tot 15:00 te
eerbiedig uit respek vir ons ouer persone. Ons vra dat u ook
familie en vriende so sal inlig.
Men prayer meeting in Sugarbush @ 7:30 every Monday
Morning
All our men are welcome to join our men for a prayer meeting
every Monday Morning. We have coffee and rusks and we pray for
Rusoord, our residents, family, friends and activities of the week.
You will not be forced to pray but your presence will enhance the
men who’s calling it is to pray through the Holy Spirit. Please join
us.

Huis besoek
Die dominee gaan besoek n dame wat baie alleen is. Op die
bedkassie staan n bakkie met grondbone waaraan hy peusel
terwyl hy gesels.Toe hy besef dat hy die bakkie grondbone alleen
opgeeet het, vra hy groot omverskoning.Dit is alles reg,dit sou
net daar bly staan het.Sonder my tande suig ek die sjokolade af.

10My Nuwejaars Voorneme
Van my ‘verlede’ nuwejaars voornemens was goed soos, ek gaan
gewig verloor, gaan baie geld maak, ophou rook, minder
chocolates eet en nie meer elke Vrydag ‘n Nougat verorber nie.
Nodeloos om te sê, meeste van hulle het nie eers die 2de Januarie
oorleef nie. En snaaks genoeg, die feit dat ek nie die voornemens
deurgevoer het nie, het nie veel aan my lewe verander nie.
Daarom het ek die jaar besluit dat ek meer na binne gaan kyk vir
my voornemens.
Die eerste – en seker die belangrikste voorneme vir my – is dat
ek ontslae gaan raak van mense wat nie ‘n positiewe emosionele
invloed op my lewe het nie. Ek skuld hulle niks, en hulle skuld my
niks, daarom sal dit beter wees dat ons paadjies skei.
Die tweede – ek gaan werk aan my innerlike vrede. Ek gaan
harder daaraan werk om die kaf van die koring te skei. Dinge wat
nie ‘n invloed op my lewe het nie, hoort nie in my lewe nie.
Die derde – ek gaan moeite doen om uit te reik na die mense vir
wie ek lief is. Ek gaan bietjie uit my kokon breek en meer daar
wees vir hulle.
Die vierde – ek gaan meer tyd spandeer aan die dinge wat ek
geniet soos musiek, skilder en fliek.
Miskien as ek die vier goed regkry sal die ander dinge net in plek
val. Ek dink dat die beste voorneme vir die nuwejaar eintlik moet
wees – Ek wil skuldloos leef. As ek die wat nie ‘n positiewe invloed
in my lewe het nie, uitsny, sal ek nie meer my misnoeë, hartseer
en ongelukkigheid aan hulle verskuldig wees nie. As ek innerlike
vrede het, skuld ek myself niks. As ek uitreik na mense vir wie ek
liefhet onthef ek myself van enige skuldgevoelens omdat ek nie
daar is vir hulle nie. As ek meer tyd aan die dinge spandeer wat
ek liefhet en geniet, sal ek nie meer in skuld wees met myself nie.
Sodoende gaan ek 2018 skuldvry in. Dilemma opgelos.
Hoop julle 2018 hou vir julle baie meer in as wat julle ooit kon
verwag of wens voor.

Exciting Days for Mrs Gillian Organ
My daughter Colleen arrives on the 20th December 2017 from the
UK. She will stay with me for one night. The next day her
daughter, son-in-law and the 4 year old triplets arrive from
Ladysmith, Natal. They, then all are going to Gordons Bay where
they have hired a holiday house for 3 weeks. I will be going to
stay with them for a couple of days over Christmas.
