COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
As you can imagine, we want to see as many campers as possible this summer, but our first priority is to provide a
safe camp experience for all. All camps in San Carlos (Adventure Camp, Club Ed and Sports camps) are designed
to follow State and local County health guidelines. Additional safety measures implemented last summer will
continue for this year and will include requiring face coverings for staff and campers, daily wellness screenings and
temperature checks prior to signing in each day. In addition, all Parks and Recreation staff receive annual training
prior to the start of camp and new training curriculum will include COVID-19 safety protocols such as social
distancing strategies and sanitizing of spaces and equipment, just to name a few! The week prior to camp, all
participants will receive an email with detailed information on what to expect on your first day of camp. With these
additional protocols, we are confident in providing an all-around terrific camp experience for everyone!

HOW TO REGISTER Online Registration Account
To register online, create an account by visiting
www.cityofsancarlos.org/register and click on the “Create
Register Early My Account” tab. You will be prompted to fill out all information

ADVENTURE CAMPS
Come play with us this summer at San Carlos Adventure
Camp! Trained and experienced staff will lead campers through
daily adventures of crafts, games, and outdoor activities. Wear
layered play clothes and closed-toe shoes, and bring a snack,
bagged lunch, and water each day.
Campers and staff will remain in stable groups for the duration
of each session. Face coverings are required for all staff and
campers. Staff and campers will be required to complete a
wellness check; including having their temperature taken at
sign-in. San Carlos Parks and Recreation will be following all
County of San Mateo guidelines.

Campers will be jumpin’ to a jazzy beat this summer as they
shine on stage in Disney’s colorful mini-musical The Jungle
Book KIDS! Featuring hit songs from the animated film and a
host of funny characters, The Jungle Book KIDS gives junior

Week 1: Lots of animals you know of have tails, but how many do
you know of that have Tales? We will be focusing on stories about
special animals such as Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, native
American stories, and fairytales and folklore. Each project begins
with a tale, but we will then learn more about the animals in the
tale. Be ready to meet animal visitors for some of these stories
as well as do a hands on project that will help us understand
them better. Week 2: This camp is a great way to learn about the
special animals who have played an important roll in the history of
the United States of America. The Bald Eagle, the native American
turkey, the wild mustang and the majestic buffalo are all fantastic
icons of the American way of life. There have also been a number
of notable animals who were presidential pets including 2 grizzly
bears, a raccoon and some alligators who were kept in a White

In-Person Sewing Camp/3D Paper Crafting
(Ages 5-11 years)
Week 1: Come and learn some basic sewing techniques such
as sewing machine operation, simple pattern reading and
sewing project construction. We will practice threading your
machine, straight line stitching, keeping a seam allowance,
pinning and cutting out a pattern. Students are encouraged to
bring their own sewing machine, otherwise a machine will be
made available for a $10 rental for the length of the course.

Daily activities include two sessions of sewing, a pre-packaged
snack and recess. Week 2: We will be building 3-D paper
structures in this camp. This class is a hands-on building unit
where we construct our projects from 2-D materials (usually
