Parent and Student Information/Registration Guide 2019/20 My son has been participating in the Beaumont Hockey Academy (BHA) for the past four years. The academy has helped develop his hockey skills as well as provide a source of team spirit, culture and enthusiasm for the sport. As a parent, I am extremely satisfied with the specialized high level hockey skills and principles the program is providing. It’s exciting to witness the development of not only my son but all players that receive the high energy and well organized training provided by a staff who lead by example in their professionalism and passion for the sport. When I asked my son what he likes about BHA? he said...” I love going because the coaches are fun and teach me new things every week so I can be a better hockey player”. I recommend this program to any player interested in improving their hockey skills and elevating their game to another level. Doug Horvat (parent) As a past player in the Beaumont Hockey Academy, I would say it is very beneficial for young hockey players who aspire to get to the next level. The Beaumont Hockey Academy gave me the skills and tools necessary for me to elevate my game to play at a high level and I’m sure it would do the same for others. The Serdachny instructors run an excellent program with great coaches who are extremely supportive and are driven to help each kid get to the next level. I have enjoyed every minute I was on the ice at BHA and I would definitely return to it. Ryder Matter (Grade 9 Student, alumnus, LJAC BAA) As a former player in the Beaumont Hockey Academy, I would say the program greatly benefitted me. It gave me the extra ice time to work with knowledgeable coaches on the skills necessary to get me to the next level. All of the coaches under Serdachny Hockey are super supportive, encouraging, and are willing to help each player achieve their goals. I really enjoyed my years at BHA, and I would definitely recommend it to other families. Corson Ceulemans (Grade 10 Student, alumnus, OHA)

7.0 FAQ Q. What are the academic requirements in order to participate in the program? A. It is encouraged that students meet a minimum of 65% average, as we believe that academics is a priority. If you are having academic concerns please discuss options with attending school. Q. Does the level of hockey played determine whether or not a registration will be accepted? A. No. However, this question is asked on the registration form in order to help determine groupings. Q. If an athlete registers in the program this year, are they guaranteed a spot for next year? A. Yes, as long as all the rules and regulations as stated in the BHA constitution are followed. Q. Can the equipment stay at the school? A. Equipment must be picked up daily, during regular school hours and before the office closes. Contact school for special arrangements. Q. What classes will the athletes lose in order to participate in this program? A. Each school will do their best to ensure athletes will not miss any instruction in core subjects (LA, Math etc.); but their opportunity for non-core subjects (Art, Music, PE etc.) may be limited. When a school schedules a core subject during the BHA time frame, it is to be arranged with the administration and teacher to inform the parents what the student will be missing. Q. Can students register outside the Beaumont school attendance boundaries? A. Students within the Beaumont attendance boundaries will have priority. Students outside the attendance boundaries require administration approval. Q. Will students be grouped according to skill level, age, grade level, etc? A. The number of students registered will dictate grouping options. Grouping decisions will be made by the schools' administration in consultation with BHA instructors.
