PAL News – November 2020 PRCBA President’s Report: Mike Raab Hello Fellow Palomino Members, Summer is gone and getting cooler here in SE Indiana. It was dry, but we just now got some much-needed rain. I have been fortunate to attend a few shows recently and the exhibitor turnout has been very good. The demand for Palominos has been good, as I have been getting requests for them. I did not enter any Palominos in the virtual online show with MARCS this fall, as I was not comfortable with providing the necessary pics and videos for display. Looking forward to more upcoming shows this fall. Hope other breeders around the country can do the same. I have about 6 litters of Pals now in the boxes and more to come. The spring shows are not far away, so if you have not bred, need to start thinking about it. In the pic to the right, I was honored to get a 2nd RIS in the rare breed show in Knoxville, TN with my Golden senior buck. It was a well exhibited show. Until next time, practice safe distancing and stay healthy! See you soon. Mike PRCBA Vice President’s Report: Jim Brown Hello Pal friends, I’m shortening my report this edition so that I can include a reprint of an article from the Pal News in 1986. There have been very few local shows but I’m hopeful that come spring we will be back to our normal schedule. I miss seeing my rabbit friends and having the opportunity to talk ‘rabbits' all day. I hope everyone has a safe and family filled holiday season. JIM Photo Credit: Morgan’s Pals 2

PAL News – November 2020 PRCBA Secretary and Sweeps Chair Reports: Carolyn Wright Greetings from the Secretary’s Desk! Hello once again from Texas! It sure was a long hot and dry summer for us down south and still no rain in sight! The Fairs and rabbit shows have all been canceled. We did finally; manage to squeeze a show in, second weekend of September. The attendance was huge. Everyone had cabin fever! The host club had their pump-up spray bottles of disinfectant and sprayed everyone’s carts coming in the building to protect against RHDV2 and hand sanitizer stations were everywhere. Plus, the Venue mandated face masks. The turnout was around 3900 entries for a triple show. Sweepstakes standings are slim for 20/21 due to numerous shows canceling to COVID 19. I was a little curious, and did a little comparison between 2019 and 2020 sanction requests that were submitted. We’re/PRCBA is down approximately 95 sanctions less, this time of the year compared to this time of year in 2019. That is a huge amount of revenue the club has lost due to the pandemic. Reminder! You can help support the PRCBA during these trying times by purchasing Pal merchandise. Check out the items with www.SanMar.com. They have our Pal logo on file and can embroidery it onto any of their products. Contact Jim Brown for pricing. He is our representative with them. You/we do not have to order a minimum. They have very high-quality merchandise. We’re working on adding a couple pics to our official Pal web page of some of the items currently available from SanMar.com. Also, in this issue, is a new report from the Secretaries Office. You will find two reconciliation reports showing the actual amount of all the deposits I made in 19/20 and a current up to date report for the fiscal year. The reports will have a detailed description of what reimbursement checks paid to me were actually used for. The current 20/21 reconciliation report will only reflect checks that have cleared the bank, will match our bank statements, and not reflect any outstanding checks. Stay safe this Holiday Season! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. Regards Carolyn Wright 4

PAL News – November 2020 District 1 Report: Bianca Haering Hi everyone, I want to say Hello to everyone in District 1 and I am pleased to have this opportunity to serve as your new director. I do have big shoes to fill. Cliff was an amazing director and I hope I can live up to the expectations that have existed under Cliff’s leadership. I am grateful to call him my friend. This year is just crazy. My rabbit club hosted one double show in August, but that is as far as my reports for shows go. Hopefully, I can attend another show in December. This year I have had a lot of time to focus on my house renovations and improvements. We also did a lot of gardening and projects around the house. We did go Halibut fishing once this summer, but the summer here in Alaska was mostly rainy, and winter is already here. So things here have not been as exciting as i had hoped for this year, and due to the ARBA Convention being cancelled, I won’t even see my pals. I do want to hear from everyone. If you are in District 1, please email me at bianca1981@hotmail.com with any news or questions you may have, or even if you just want to report about your litters. I am looking forward to working cooperatively with all the Pal members. Til next time, Bianca District 2 Report: Kathleen Utter: Hello to everyone in District 2 and hopefully everyone is staying safe with COVID, RHVD and all of the terrible fires. This year has certainly caused a lot of changes for us all. I have not been able to attend any rabbit show this year and I know there have only been a few in Northern California and miss seeing everyone. I am hoping that we will be able to slowly get back into the normal swing of things. For all the members in District 2 if you have anything to share, please email me fcfutter@gmail.com I am looking forward to working cooperatively with all the Pal members. Please be safe, Kathleen District 3 Report: Sally Peoples No report received… 9
PAL News – November 2020 District 4 Report: Latosha Lucas Hello everyone, Not much have been going on in Texas. Shows are just starting to get back up and running here. Hope everyone is get ready to start showing again. Hope everyone has babies in the nest boxes. My Aunt, Margaret Nace passed away on September 22. She was active exhibitor of Palominos and she also showed white Mini Rex. Her passion was helping the youth. She will be greatly missed. Margaret Jean had worked for the State School in Houston with the special needs kids swim team to compete in the Special Olympics in Texas. It gave her great joy to work these kids. In recent years She raised show rabbits and begin to mentor the youth in the surrounding counties. She was always willing to help them with their rabbits. She would do anything for the kids in the rabbit community and was always proud of to talk about her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her dad Charles Nace, brother Charlie Nace and wife Ann of Ft. Worth, sister Joy Lucas and husband Mike Lucas. Nieces April Nace, Heather Lucas, and Latosha Lucas. Nephews Casey Nace and Ryan Nace. Extended nieces and nephews Christina McMillan and husband Jared, Cody Lucas and wife Cat and Brittany Lucas. She is preceded in death by her mother Myrtle Nace and grandparents. A memorial service will be held on November 7th at 1:00 at Trinity lighthouse in Denison TX. District 5 Report: Bob Donnell Hello all, My names Robert Donnell, it’s an honor to serve you as a director. This is what I stand for. I will be 100 % transparent at all times and will do my best to put the good of the club ahead of the good of the individual. My personal beliefs are Nobody is more important than anyone in our club else regardless of club status. Two things I will not tolerate is deception or secrecy. These are cancer for clubs! Here in Illinois it’s getting cooler and furs coming in. We have had some very good shows here in the Midwest. The guidelines the ARBA have in place for RHD were used. Most recently several pals were exhibited in Lebanon in at my own clubs all breed show. The show was a huge success by all accounts it was the largest all breed show hosted by a local club in ARBA history. We had 10,973 total entries, keep in mind, this was a local club not a state or regional or a conv. The numbers scream ppl want to show. Social distancing was exercised, masks were mandated, temps were taken, and contact tracing forms applied. We had ZERO COVID -19 outbreaks and ZERO RHD outbreaks! 10
PAL News – November 2020 District 5 continued… I encourage all to get out to do your part to promote our breed. Nothing happens sitting back waiting on the next guy to do it be the guy who does it. Don’t just be a leader BE A LEADER TO LEADERS! Several shows coming up here, Oct. 30-31 Halloween Havoc in Danville, IN hosted by Rabbit Renegades RBA, Dec. 11-12 Collision Course in Lebanon. IN hosted by Rabbit Renegade RBA. Then the final show of the year Dec. 31 at Danville, IN the Royal Rumble hosted by Rabbit Renegade RBA. These will all be triples except the NYE show which is a double and all shows will have multiple specialties with rare breed shows included. Pal National 2023?? Lebanon Indiana is an excellent place for a national they offer over 1000 coops and help with funding is available. I know Cals are bidding nationals there in 2023. I’m certain they would be very cohesive with Pals there too. Feel free to contact me anytime with ideas or questions. Until next time, may your next boxes be full of winners and east to the west pals are the best! Thank you, Robert Donnell District 6 Report: Collette Waters No report received… District 7 Report: Shannon Whitney Hello members, I’m sure you have all read a lot about NY in the news. NY is a large and diverse state. Upstate NY (and by that, I mean almost Canada not Albany) has been working to have some shows that meet the NY COVID requirements. So far, they have done a great job! Pals were sanctioned at one and had excellent turn out! Hope you are all doing well and are able to attend shows. Fingers crossed we will be able to have more shows in the spring! Shannon Whitney 11
PAL News – November 2020 District 8 Report: Elizabeth Reichert No report received… District 9 Report: Luke Teaford Hello Pal club members! Fall is here and rabbits will finally get finished coats here in Pennsylvania. There has only been a handful of shows here on the east coast. We are all hoping for the best come spring. I have some show reports to report from way back on August 8th.
