Our COVID-19 case count includes confirmed and probable cases.
Confirmed:
- Meets confirmatory laboratory evidence: SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a clinical specimen using a
molecular amplification detection test.
Probable:
- Meets clinical criteria (symptoms) AND epidemiologic evidence (exposure) with no
confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19.
- Meets presumptive (antigen, antibody) laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR
epidemiologic evidence.
- Meets vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19.
Active: Monitored by Public Health. Timeline varies, usually no more than 14 days.
Closed: Discontinuation of isolation. No longer monitored by Public Health.
Recovered: No standardized definition. Difficult to determine, but most assume an individual has returned to
baseline health prior to COVID-19. Not tracked by Public Health.
Quarantine: Used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others to limit the
disease spread.
Isolation: Separate people infected with the virus (those who are sick with COVID-19 and those with no
symptoms) from people who are not infected.Pacific County Weekly COVID 19 Data Pacific County Case Data Summary 1/13/2021 1/20/2021 1/27/2021 Cases (Total) 640 669 688 -Active Cases (currently monitored by Public Health) 26 41 32 -Closed Cases (no longer monitored by Public Health) 614 628 656 -Confirmed Cases (PCR positive) 452 478 491 -Probable cases (Rapid positive) 188 191 197 Hospitalizations (to date) 21 21 22 Deaths 7 8 9 -Percent Deaths (deaths/cases) 1% 1.1% 1.3% Cases per 100k per 14 days (rolling)- includes 240.3 231.1 217.2 PCR positives and Rapid positives Data transition to include “Probable” as “COVID-19 Case” and to calculate average case rate per 100,000/14 days. Updated 1/27/2021Pacific County Vaccine Data
Description Number of doses
Vaccines given (dose 1) 1160
Vaccines given (dose 2) 270
Total given (as of 1/26) 1430
Plus
• 770 additional first doses scheduled by end of this week
• 1660 additional second doses scheduled over next four weeks
Updated 1/27/2021Pacific County vaccine collaborative for mass clinics ➢ Pacific County providers have formed a mass vaccine collaborative. ➢ Providers in the collaborative will contribute vaccine received each week from the state toward the collective vaccine pool in Pacific County to be used at mass vaccination clinics scheduled in North and South County. ➢ Each week, providers meet to establish the total number of doses received collectively by all providers. ➢ From that number, we subtract out any scheduled Dose 2 clinics for the week to reserve vaccine for those clinics first. ➢ Whatever is left over determines the number of doses available for new dose one clinics for that week. ➢ We then schedule the clinic by contacting people who are on the waitlist in the order that they were added to the waitlist.
Other Vaccine Clinic strategies Once vaccine supply improves or at least becomes more predictable, additional methods of distributing vaccine will be added including: ➢ Private healthcare providers- including healthcare providers will provide vaccine to established patients by appointment for those in a currently approved phase. (not yet available) ➢ Pharmacies- some pharmacies will provide vaccines by appointment ➢ Mass drive thru vaccine clinics- by appointment for those in a currently approved phase. Conducted by OBH w/ support from Health Dept in South County, and by Health Dept with support from WHH in north county. ➢ On site vaccine clinics- vaccines will be provided on site for some larger employers who have a large number of workers in a currently eligible phase. ➢ In all cases, and regardless of provider- appointments will only be made for those in a currently approved phase (as of 1/26/2021, that only includes Healthcare Workers, EMS, Long Term Care residents & staff, those over age 65, and those over 50 living in multigenerational households.
Timeline and Plan: Phase 1B-2, 1B-3, & 1B-4
➢ The county has to wait for the “green light” from the state before we can move to the
next phase.
➢ Timeline is dependent on vaccine supply. The county cannot move forward with
future phases without state approval
➢ Estimated timeline is:
➢ 1B-2- high risk critical workers over 50: estimated spring 2021
➢ 1B-3- people over 16 with 2 or more underlying conditions: estimated spring
2021
➢ 1B-4- high risk critical workers under age 50, and people, staff, & volunteers in
congregate settings: estimated spring 2021
➢ All other- TBD, likely summer/fall 2021Pacific County Vaccine Appointment Waitlist
