Post Tour to Kalajoki and Oulu 21.-24.1.2021
Welcome to experience the winter in Arctic Archipelago – the western coastal
area of Oulu Travel Region in Northern Finland! During this Post Tour you will try
various winter activities on and off the frozen Arctic sea in Kalajoki Sand Dunes
Resort and City of Oulu - the largest city in Northern Finland. You will also get to
chase the Northern lights and enjoy plenty of delicious local food.
Oulu Region is an easily accessible and many-sided travel region in Northern
Finland. Oulu Airport is the second biggest in Finland with frequent flights to and
from Helsinki. All trains to Lapland make a stop in Oulu.
This tour is recommended for tour operators from all countries.
This tour is recommended for tour operators handling group leisure travel.
Programme
Thursday 21.01.2021
Helsinki – Kalajoki Sand Dunes
You will get your flight ticket by email from Winter Fun Workshop Organizer or from
the hosting destination around 1 week prior to departure.
Starting point of this tour is at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. There is no organized transfer
for example from Helsinki city to the airport. Participant needs to find own way to the
meeting point. You will meet Winter Fun Workshop Organizer representative at
Helsinki-Vantaa in Terminal 2, Departure Level with the sign “Winter Fun Workshop
2021 Pre and Post Tours”. The time he/she will be at the airport dispatching you to
the Oulu flight is between 11.00 – 12.00 o’clock.
If you are transit passenger, you can go directly to the departure gate. There is no
need to come to Departure Terminal area. You can use f.ex. Messenger or other
media to reach the Organizer that everything is ok. Please check the monitors about
the gate and check-in time of the departure.

Safari gear: warm overalls, winter boots, beanie and gloves are provided for the
whole duration of the Post Tour. You can wear the safari gear during the winter
activities.

Tour ends at Helsinki-Vantaa airport. There are no organized transfer from the
Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to city of Helsinki. The distance is around 18 km and there
are public transportation available such as bus, taxi and train connection. The
fastest is perhaps taxi (taxi station in Terminal 1 Arrival Level) but also most
expensive. If you stay at Holiday Inn Expo Hotel (workshop hotel) there is train
station next to the hotel. Station is called Pasila. Walking distance approx. 300 m.
Airport buses takes you the city centre area and we recommend then take a taxi
from city centre to the Holiday Inn Expo.
If you are transitting to your next flight, just follow the monitors to check your next
gate and gate opening time.

Recommended Warm winter clothing, including warm winter jacket, warm shoes, hat,
gloves, scarf, warm socks, long-sleeved under-layer.
