Receiving Federal Aid at Kent State Must add Kent State school code to 2019-2020 FAFSA 003051 All financial aid related items listed on FlashLine checklist must be completed. Enrollment Plans and Terms & Conditions must be completed Cancel any pending aid for 2019-2020 at current institution (if applicable) View current federal student loan and grant usage Log into www.nslds.ed.gov Must use student’s FSA ID to log in If reaching limits/aggregates, may not receive full amount for the year $57,500 for undergraduate Direct Loans & 600% for Pell grant

Additional Action Steps for Direct Loans If Accepting Federal Direct Student Loans, student must complete: • Entrance Counseling • Master Promissory Note (MPN) • Current interest rate is 4.529% - effective July 1st • Subsidized - interest free until graduation • Unsubsidized – interest accrues • Amount based on grade level • 6 month grace period for repayment www.StudentLoans.gov

New Transfer2Kent Scholarship Kent State University is now offering the new Transfer2Kent scholarship for transfer students who are starting in the Fall 2019 semester. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must: • Apply to Kent by July 1st. • Be a domestic undergraduate student. • Be admitted to the Kent Campus as a new transfer student for the Fall 2019 semester and be enrolled full-time (entirely online degree programs are not eligible). • Have a minimum college GPA of 2.50. • Have up to 90 transfer hours. The scholarship award is $1000-$2500 per year and may be renewed for up to two years (maximum four semesters) as long as you remain eligible. Take advantage of this opportunity now. Flash Transfer Northeast Ohio Scholarship • Apply to Kent by July 1st. • Be a domestic undergraduate student. • Be admitted to the Kent Campus as a new transfer student • Earned an Associates degree from: Tri-C, Lorain Community College, Lakeland Community College, Stark State College or Eastern Gateway College The scholarship award is $2500 per year and may be renewed for one year (maximum four semesters) or until graduation whichever comes first. Also must complete a minimum 12 credit hours and earn a 2.50 GPA each semester.
