INSIGHT 3 Public Input To Begin For New Projects Memorial Park, Official Plan Review Need Your Comments Glenn Jackson, Contributor OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW Have you ever wondered why certain buildings in Whitchurch-Stouffville are located where they are? Why some businesses are in certain areas and not others? Why new homes and schools are built where they are? We have all wondered at some time or another how and why our community is built the way it is. The specific layout of our roads, buildings, parks and heritage areas are dedicated by a set of rules published in a document called the Whitchurch-Stouffville Official Plan. It is this Plan that helps us ensure future planning and development needs of Whitchurch-Stouffville are met. The last time our Official Plan was comprehensively reviewed was in 2000. The Province updated their Plans in 2017 and we are now required to update ours to reflect those changes. And we want your help! The Town is about to begin our Official Plan Review. Even though this will take a couple of years to complete, one of the first steps is public consultation. We will be setting up a series of engagement opportunities for you to participate.
