Message From The EVENT ORGANISERS A very warm welcome to all exhibitors and visitors who have travelled from various parts of this country and elsewhere in the world to participate and/or visit this 20th Nairobi international Education Fair (NIEF) in Nairobi, Kenya. This Fair provides a one-stop forum for local and international colleges and universities to engage students, school leavers, teachers and parents on careers and training programmes being offered by these institutions. Other young persons, including the working class people wishing to advance their Education, will also benefit from this Fair. NIEF is the mother of the Regional and Career Fairs organized in various regions of this country. We have just completed a successful Fair in Machakos. After this Fair, we will be headed to Mombasa. Others to follow will be Eldoret, Kakamega, Kisii, Kisumu, Meru, Nakuru and Nyeri. The 47 counties, which were recently created by Kenya’s new constitution, are new enclaves of social and economic development in this country. The devolved governance system has moved many people with good disposable incomes to the counties attracting impressive business activities. As a result of this, many corporate firms and institutions have also realigned their operations and businesses to this new dispensation. These Regional Education and Career Fairs assist the local and international colleges and universities to have structured engagement with students, teachers, parents and the general public in those areas for the benefit of all parties. The government, the people of Kenya and many other interested organizations are deeply disturbed by the serious unemployment in this country. One of the major causes is lack of work and entrepreneurial skills among job seekers. The new focus now is to promote the provision of those skills. At these Fairs we are targeting Kenyans of all ages and levels of Education who desire to be trained for work and entrepreneurial skills, taking into consideration their interests, abilities and talents. Training institutions ranging from the leading international universities and colleges, local public and private universities and colleges and TVET public and private colleges as well as vocational training centres and youth polytechnics offering recognized career courses will be at hand to guide all those students, school leavers and other young Kenyans who require training and acquisition of work and entrepreneurial skills. The events will be organized for the next several years until all young Kenyans would have been properly sensitized on the need not only to be educated but more importantly to acquire the skills that are required by their prospective employers. Once again we thank you for choosing to do business with us. We will continuously strive to be relevant to your future business plans in the Education sector in Kenya. Sammy Masara Team Leader & CEO 2 The 20th Nairobi International Education Fair 2018
