FO N D U E New Year’s Eve Fondue Tuesday, 31 December 2019 If you would prefer an alternative to the gala menu, you can choose the Palais Coburg wine bar instead where we will be serving fondue with drinks and dessert. After midnight we ring in the New Year with fireworks in the gardens, champagne and the Blue Danube Waltz, before the New Year’s Eve party continues in the lobby („The Roaring Twenties“, see page 20). . The wine bar and lobby will be transformed into a high- spirited New Year’s Eve party zone for the night. S I LV I O N I C KO L New Year’s Eve Gala Tuesday, 31 December 2019 New Year’s Eve at Palais Coburg this year will be inspired by “The Golden Twenties”. Experience a roaring night and celebrate the year 2020 in style at our unforgettable New Year’s Eve gala. After a champagne reception, star chef Silvio Nickol will treat guests to a culinary masterclass in the opulent Staterooms when he unveils his grand finale – a selection of the culinary artist’s best creations from 2019. The evening will be accompanied by piano music. At midnight we will see in the new year on the grand portico terrace with champagne and fireworks to the sounds of the Blue Danube Waltz and the bells of Stephen’s Cathedral. Then the party continues down in the lobby (pls see page 20) with yet another highlight – a midnight show featuring a specially choreographed performance by members of the Vienna State Opera Ballet. Afterwards, it’s time to party the night away and celebrate until the early hours at our fantastic New Year’s Eve party with two bars, visual effects, DJ, dance music, a great atmosphere and much more besides. W E I N A RC H I V Rare wines accompaniment The Palais Coburg Wine Archive guards a unique collection of fine wines with approx. 60,000 bottles from several centuries stored in the medieval cellars of Vienna’s former town fortification. Each of the six wine cellars of Palais Coburg is distinguished by its own independent characteristics and architecture, special focus and ideal climate for great wines. The Palais Coburg wine list with 6,000 varieties was named the “World’s Best Wine List” (World of Fine Wine) in 2014 & 2017, the “Best Wine List in Europe” (World of Fine Wine) in 2015 and “Best Wine list of the Year” (Falstaff Magazine) in 2016. For New Year’s Eve these six cellars will present their treasures for a unique wine pairing with great, rare wines. This special occasion will provide the one-of-a-kind opportunity to taste several great and rare by the glass in one evening. Our sommeliers will arrange an exciting succession of great wines. BRUNCH New Year’s brunch in the casemates with a live broadcast of the New Year’s Concert Wednesday, 1 January 2020 This time round we will get the New Year off to the perfect start with our traditional brunch, which will be hosted in the historic ambience of the casemates. In addition to a live broadcast of the world famous New Year’s Concert, a culinary masterclass, magnums of Free Flow Pol Roger, New Year’s decorations and live piano music will get the year off to an unforgettable start.
