— Modular Metering Main modules – Center feeding SUITABLE FOR CENTER-FEED APPLICATIONS ONLY* *Example of rating label for 1200A meter modules: Horizontal bus is rated 1200 amps maximum. The load on the horizontal bus may not exceed 1200 amps in either direction from the point of connection of the main circuit breaker. Overall load is limited to the rating of the main circuit breaker. For applications where the main module ampere is greater than that of the meter stack horizontal bus, the main module must be placed in the middle of the lineup (Figure A, next slide). The engineer of record must provide calculations showing that the horizontal bussing will not be overloaded on either side. This situation (called “Center-Feeding”) can happen in either 800A or 1200A horizontal bus meter stack applications, depending on the main ampere rating. Refer to the chart (next slide) for amperage and bus information. Note: Figures B & C (next slide) show examples of incorrect meter stack configurations.
