As the clock struck midnight on December 31, I think it’s fair to say that most of us, were very happy to bid 2020 goodbye. After riding the tumultuous wave of a year like no other, 2021 engenders a sense of optimism and new beginnings. Like many organisations we learnt to expect the unexpected, to adapt and to think outside the square. We aimed to continue to be an exemplar of good practice and to hold the needs of the community at the fore front of our thinking. This continues in 2021. Our creative and flexible approach will hold us in good stead for the year ahead. We can be confident that we will continue to rise to new challenges, in what will inevitably continue to be, an ever-changing landscape. For many Adelaide Hills residents this week’s Cherry Gardens fire threatened life and property. It bought back horrendous memories for many, recalling how fire tore through the Hills, Kangaroo Island and the Upper South East with such tragic consequences, at the start of 2020. Many are still grappling with the consequences of these fires. Those affected remain at the forefront of our thinking as we continue to work with these communities. We would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the CFS volunteers and emergency services who worked to contain the fires and this time, we were very fortunate to have a weather change that bought with it that glorious rain. Had it not, so many of our Hill’s community would have again potentially experienced significant loss. As we head into 2021, and to coincide with the start of the new year, we are excited to announce the launch of our new website. We are very proud of the outcome. It will allow individuals, health professionals and our commissioned service providers to quickly and easily find the information they require. I’d like to thank all involved but to make particular mention of our Manager of Communications, Kylie Kasal, who took this task on with determination and incredible focus to bring such disparate elements of our diverse organisation into a single platform. I’d also like to thank Bold Website Design for their professionalism in creating such a fantastic website. Please take a moment to have a look countrysaphn.com.au, we hope it serves you well. On behalf of Country SA PHN, I’d like to wish everyone all the best for the year ahead.
