2 WHY ADVERTISE? WHY ADVERTISE WITH US? Advertising is a business expense that can be included on itemized deductions at the end of the year. Advertising is an investment in your company that increases sales while also helping to ease your tax burden. The U.S. Small Business Administration recommends spending 7 to 8 percent of your gross revenue for marketing and advertising. The Sun-Gazette is in 3 out of 5 households in the Foothills area (eastern Tulare County from Ivanhoe to Strathmore). Social media advertising is based on the number of “likes,” “friends” and “followers” YOU KNOW, but advertising with the newspaper reaches an audience THAT DON’T ALREADY KNOW YOU. Social media only reaches 4 percent of the number of likes and followers. Print ads reach a more sophisticated, higher income audience than radio, television or online advertising, according to Yahoo! Small Business. Print ads reach a more targeted audience because you have some control and input into where the ad is placed and the date it will be delivered. Sixty percent of people still trust print advertisements, according to a 2016 study by Melbourne Business School. Print media is the only form of advertising where the business owner has complete control of the images, text, placement, message and branding. THE SUN-GAZETTE © 2021, The Sun-Gazette Newspaper.
