Invited Speaker: Björn Johansson, Professor of Sustainable Production, Chalmers University of Technology will present on “Tradeoff Analysis Using Digital Tools for Sustainable Manufacturing”. Additional LCE TC Activities: The LCE TC held a meeting on August 20, 2020 to discuss the future directions of the LCE and ongoing research of the members of the technical committee. A summary of the research topics that members are working on is summarized in the word cloud below. Figure 1: Word cloud of research areas of the LCE TC members. The MSEC symposia sponsored by LCE was actively advertised on social media and to the members of the TC to increase the number of paper submissions this year relative to prior years. Ultimately, 10 paper submissions were received for the two symposia (9 papers were accepted and 1 paper was rejected). C. MSEC 2022 The 2022 ASME International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference (MSEC 2021) and the 50th North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC50) will be hosted by the Purdue University College of Engineering June 27-July 1, 2022 in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. The LCE TC has not received symposium proposals for MSEC 2022.
