I ventured timidly upon a new road...
Yet what is an artist if not a courageous
    explorer who experiments, who sniffs
around, plays, runs ahead of the others,
giving out by the handful his incorruptible
    enthusiasm and tireless energy!

I know there is no experimentation without
the risk of error, and this is a great strength
in addition to talent and study.
I love victories, but I never accept defeats as
failures, but rather as ascents from which to
begin to rebuild, and finally to fly. Following
the path of solid matter, I tried out my other
aptitudes, which had become ever more alive
and pressing, a work that chases after me
and bids me to get moving.

A passion! The one and only word that brings
comfort in the life of artists, and not only. It
makes you dare to go beyond. So I combined,
I mixed colors, silicone, materials, fabrics...
I created on my own, and this in itself makes
me happy! If you will like it too, I shall be
proud, but should it be otherwise... I will try
again! I do not know where nor how... but I
know that I will try again!

...The talent of Marisa Laurito reminds
one of the works by Lalique or Gallè
in different eras: artists who worked in
the field of decoration before engaging
in any other technique. Marisa Laurito
is excellent in decorative style, in
the details, and this leads to a curious
blend between the sentiment of Koons
and thet of Trouille. If therefore,
the United States have Jeff Koons
to celebrate the American way of life,
the Italian style is perfectly to be found
in her work. Her use of silicone is very
up-to-date: in the age of plastic surgery
this material seems emblematic,
it stigmatizes contemporary luxury
and, rather that being the product
of “touch”, it symbolizes the concept
of “touch-up”, or better still the one
of “retouch”, now widespread in the
epic of the Great Beauty. With a vein
of irony, Marisa crystallizes this
colorful world, and with her elegance
renders it immortal and eternal...

...These objects-compositions can
     follow various tracks: from the
aesthetic to the discursive, or they
can be used for a “different” meal,
where the food will, in time, unveil
messages or signals to be shared,
     criticized or simply read ...
But it is undoubtedly a profound
     artistic message that comes from
     afar and manages to capture
and stimulate with a smile even
our most critical feeling for life.
     Marisa Laurito represents
     the intelligent and solar polarity
which our natures, in a time
     so filled with lacerations and
ruptures should seek out if only
     as an indispensable complement...

...Distraction may be considered
the secret of life, for it enables man
to forget the existence of death.
Every time that I stop to look at
one of Marisa’s paintings, I allow
myself to be distracted by the
sinuous shapes and the colors
of her works.

In that short time I deceive myself
that I can live forever, and I realize
how lucky I am to have met a
woman who, by her art, made me
a gift of this dream. Marisa went
off and hid herself in a painting.
Now, if you wish, you can go
there also...
