BULL RIDING ON CBS THROUGH 2028 CBS SPORTS AND TURNER SPORTS’ COVERAGE OF 2019 NCAA TOURNAMENT CONTINUES TO DELIVER STRONG NUMBERS ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS ***** CBS SPORTS TO BE HOME OF PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS THROUGH 2028 CBS Sports and Turner Sports’ coverage of the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship continues to deliver strong numbers across all platforms. Live game coverage across TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV is averaging a 6.7/15 HH rating/share in the metered markets, tied for the third-highest rating through the Regional Finals in 26 years. The 6.7/15 HH rating is up +8% over last year (6.2/13), based on Nielsen metered market delivery. In addition, NCAA March Madness Live has set all-time records in live streams and live hours of consumption for the NCAA Tournament to date, with both seeing increases of 30% or more through the Regional Finals. MML has also set daily records in live hours (eight times) and live streams (five times). … Official NCAA March Madness social accounts have produced a 117% increase in engagements vs. last year’s tournament to date through Sunday (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). … Last Sunday’s Regional Finals across TBS and CBS (7.2/15) generated the second-highest rating for the Elite Eight since 2011, with increases across all four games. CBS Sports and PBR (Professional Bull Riders) have reached a long-term rights extension, keeping CBS Sports as the exclusive televi- sion home of PBR through 2028. The new deal increases the number of PBR broadcast hours on the CBS Television Network on a yearly basis -- adding addi- tional broadcast hours during the 2019 season and then televising nearly 20 broadcast hours of programming each subsequent year over the course of the agreement. In addiion, CBS Sports Network will continue its season-long cover- age, airing 28 events including all four Majors. CBS Sports Neywork opens the season at Madison Square Garden in January and will televise all five nights of PBR World Finals in Las Vegas. 1
PEOPLE Recently, Josie Thomas, EVP, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, CBS Corporation, was honored as one of Black Enterprise’s Most Powerful Women in Corporate Diversity at the Women of Power Summit in Las Vegas. The annual award honors exceptional women of power who have overcome barriers and challenges, proving that there is nothing women of color can’t accomplish. Noted Thomas: “It was an honor and privilege to be recognized with such an accomplished group of women leaders championing inclusion in the corporate workplace.” The Women of Power Summit is the nation’s largest executive leadership con- ference specifically for women of color. Veronica Jordan has been named Executive Earl Gilbert "Butch" Graves Jr, President and CEO of Vice President, General Counsel of Simon & Black Enterprise and Josie Schuster, Inc. In her new role, Veronica will have Thomas oversight of a broad range of legal affairs, work- ing with Carolyn Reidy, Simon & Schuster President and Chief Executive Officer, and Simon & Schuster’s publishing and operations units and international companies on matters including intellectual property management, regulatory and trade issues, Veronica Jordan (L) and Jennifer contracts, litigation and corporate governance. Ms. Jordan will also work closely with Weidman her counterparts at CBS Corporation, the parent company of Simon & Schuster. ... Also at S&S, Jennifer Weidman has been named Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for the company. Weidman will continue to work with a number of Simon & Schuster’s publishing imprints as well as on a variety of trade and retail arrangements, and will now take on supervi- sory responsibility for the company’s contracts department. The special, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, star of CBS’ hit comedy THE NEIGHBORHOOD, will be broadcast later this year. LIP SYNC TO THE RESCUE is an interactive countdown special where viewers vote for their favorite video of performances featuring first responders channeling their inner pop stars and lip-sync- ing to hit music -- a trend that began with the #LipSyncChallenge. The winner will be announced live during the broadcast. l SHOWTIME has given a series commitment and opened a writers room for the new spy thriller INTELLIGENCE, a real- world scripted drama series from Academy Award-win- ning filmmaker Mark Boal (“The Hurt Locker,” “Zero Dark Thirty”). The series, based on real stories from around the world, will explore the secret inner workings of power – how espionage intersects with politics, finance, media and Silicon Valley. The first season will dramatize the behind-the-scenes history leading up to the 2016 U.S. election, with each subsequent season looking at a major world event through the lens of covert operations. CBS TEAMS CYCLE TO FIGHT MS On Saturday, March 23, more than 17 members of Team CBS, the CBS Veterans Network and KCAL9 News anchor Jeff Vaughn raised more than $11,000 by pedaling 1,285 miles com- bined as a part of Bike MS Los Angeles in support of those living with multiple sclerosis. It was also the debut of the new CBS Veterans Network cycling jersey that everyone was proud to wear at the event, which drew over 1,000 attendees. Team CBS included four California Highway Patrol Public Information Officers who work year-round with CBS2 KCAL9, two of whom are vet- erans. This is the third year Team CBS has participated in Bike MS Los Angeles, and it is hoped to grow the team even more next year!
