The river Mersey has made Liverpool what it is today. The river was made
internationally famous in the 1960s by the song about the famous ferries that
crossed the river back then. Some of the ferries that used to operate are still
working today and any trip to Merseyside wouldn't be complete without a
famous ferry tour. The tour lasts just under an hour and will take you up and
down the river whilst pointing out the various sites along the way.

                             WHERE TO LIVE

With Liverpool city at the heart of Merseyside and its surrounding
neighbourhoods of Halton, Knowsley, Southport, St.Helens and Wirral you are
sure to find a suitable place to settle in.

City Centre
Liverpool city centre is always busy and bustling. The hot spots to live are
around the Albert Dock area. Although this area can be rather expensive, it is
balanced by its proximity to the centre.

                                       The Albert Dock

Central Suburbs – Kensington & Wavertree
This area links the M62 motorway with Liverpool City Centre.
With a recent renewal initiative underway these areas are on their way up with
money being spent on the area to increase invest and create new job
opportunities.

North Suburbs – North Liverpool & Alt Valley
The area is mainly terraced housing. There are several renewal projects
underway for the demolition and renovation of existing homes as well as the
designs of new replacement houses so this could be your chance to invest in an
up and coming area of the city.
The Alt Valley area consists of large modern day private housing estates as well
as streets of Victorian and Edwardian terraces and villas. The region is well
serviced by two shopping centers, Broadway and Walton Vale, together with a
number of smaller shopping facilities.

South Suburbs
The South Suburbs is made up of large detached homes in tree-lined streets.
The area was once a collection of little villages all of which were absorbed into
Liverpool as the city expanded. This area has a variety of parklands and greens
with Calderstones Park and Camphill & Woolton Woods located south of the
city. House prices are accordingly high.

Wirral
There are several nice places to live across the river in Wirral and it’s not far
from the city. Oxton is a great little village, and anywhere around Neston,
Parlgate, Upton, Meols, Greasby would offer good surroundings to set up home.

                                         Map of Wirral
