                                                     CREATING BRAND INDIA.
                                                     The concept of measuring country’s
                                                     global perception across various
                                                     dimensions was developed by Simon
Anholt in the year 2005. It is defined as
Country branding Index or Nation
branding Index.

Nation branding could be derived from its
economic development, attracting
tourism, exports, human capital,
technological innovations etc. The
contribution towards re-branding India
can come from a personality,
organization, business enterprise,
academic, sports, culture and host of
other sectors
We see a resurgent India. The world has
taken a note of the changing image of
India. Today’s India is not reclusive but proactive, positive and participative in the world
affairs. There are many contributors to this effect. Also, there are many sectors who have
contributed in changing the face of India.

Industrial Visit to Piaggio

An industrial visit organized by Lexicon M.I.L.E. - Management Institute Of
Leadership And Excellence for the students of PGDM Batch 18 -20 in order to
enhance the practical stimulation of the students. A report was submitted by the
students to relate the output of the industry visit held at PIAGGIO VEHICLES
PRIVATE LIMITED at BARAMATI. The main objective of visit is to understand the
production process of Piaggio.
Piaggio is an Italian motor vehicle manufacturer, which produces a range of two -
wheeled motor vehicles and compact commercial vehicles under seven brands. The
headquarter is located in Pontedera, Italy. In India, the manufacturing plant of
Piaggio vehicles is located in Baramati, Maharashtra. A total of 4 brands are
manufactured in two- wheeled vehicles at Baramati like Vespa, Aprilia , typhoon
and SR- 128. Among these four brands, Typhoon and SR-128 are manufactured for
international market. These two brands are exported to Eur ope. The other two
brands Vespa and Aprilia are manufactured for Indian market. There are two
units under which the two wheeled vehicles are produced and processed
Manufacturing, Automation. In a brief, the manufacturing unit involves two
processes i.e. welding and painting. At first, the welding process take place under
which steel is welded to form a structure that is required. Proper safety measures
are undertaken for worker’s safety. After the formation of structure, the parts are
transferred to the painting unit. Painting of these parts is divided into 2 segments.
One where the steel structure is painted and the other where the plastic structure
is painted. Total of 4 layer of paint is coated. First is for the safety of rust, second
is of primer, third is of pesto and fourth is clear coat. In this unit extra safety
measures are taken which includes masks, gloves, glasses and shoes for all the
workers. After completion of this process, the p arts are kept into a blue box to be
transferred into automation unit. Automation unit includes assembly of all parts
that are pointed to form a finished product. The assembly process is undertaken in
a very systematic manner. For example, first the handle is assembled, then horn is
placed, then the lights are attached and so on.

according to demand they are now producing only 500 units per day. Total 1700
workers are working in the plant. Assembly of each Vespa takes only 15 minute.
The unique selling preposition (USP) for Vespa is to use vibrant and pop up colors
to attract and differentiate. Also, the transfer of the parts from one unit to
another is very easy process as all the units are connected. The use of conveyer
belts is imposed for this transfer. The production is held in a systematic order i.e.
welding painting assembling Due to which the production plant has become
successful.

                                                   function strengthens the
student-teacher relationships and senior-junior bonding.
Navratri means nine nights and so the tenth day Goddess Durga, who is
worshipped throughout the nine days, is immersed in holy water after pooja. Each
and every day has its importance and meaning. People worship Goddess in three
forms and try to enhance their physical, mental and spiritual practice in these
nine days.

It is the divine power that provides energy for the earth to move around the sun,
causing the changes in the outer nature and that this divine power must be
thanked for maintaining the correct balance of the universe. Due to the changes in
nature, the bodies and minds of people undergo a considerable change. Due to
climate change & solar influence, the energy level of the body goes up & down. If
the energy level is up, Satwa increases, positivity increases. On the result of it, the
human becomes dynamic, enthusiastic, creative & happier. When the energy level
is down, Tamas increases, negativity increases. So all types of negativity like
greed, jealousy, hatred develop in the human’s body.

Examinations are a way to test the
knowledge of students, it checks what

Students and theire views on exam @Lexicon MILE :

Examination.........a biggest fear in every student's life
that a student remembers forever. Our Lexicon MILE
PGDM Batch 2018-20 experienced examination for the
first time. I have great experience in these days. I am
commerce graduate so these exams are not so tough
for me. I had to polish my analytical skills through
solving case studies. Quant subject was challenging
task for me. Faculty and my friends helped me a lot. I
realized about team work, planning and cooperation in
preparation during exam days.
Overall it was great experience.

FEAR + LEARNING = EXAM

"EXAM”, the moment this word enters your ears, your
mind starts calculating the subject’s syllabus, where you
stand, how much you have to go with your syllabus etc......
But as a professional, you don't have much time to work
on this. One cannot believe in this but this is the fact of
                                   Management College.
I found the early stages of preparation really interesting
as my teacher slowly went through the exam material and
explained how different aspects were graded and what he
wanted me to aim for. I enjoyed learning the pieces and
soon could play them without referring to my books at all.
I was struggling with my scales but was determined to
                                   have them nailed before long.

It’s been always hectic for Engineers to be a part
of any written Examination, Trust me its challenge
for us. We raised ourselves to part of practicality
He he! But here at Lexicon MILE for PGDM, from
very first day we clarified few things that
Examinations are not going to be tough including
work Schedule. What else I supposed those days?
The same was briefed to me by Director Ma’am
Later whenever she saw me on the ground floor
studying. It’s charismatic and Immense Learning
throughout TRI 1. Same holds for Exam times,
studying by remembering Weird Examples and
Cramming Procedures and making Abbreviations.
Best one was for remembering Henry Fayol’s
Administrative Principles as:

DUAL DISCO REGU

      1. Division of Work
      2. Unity of Direction
      3. Authority and Responsibility
      4. Line of Authority
      5. Discipline
      6. Initiative
      7. Stability of Tenure
      8. Centralization
      9. Order
      10. Remuneration
      11. Equity
      12. Esprit De Corps
      13. General Interest
      14. Unity of Command

But as simple as possible there is clear Law of Examination by Anonymous Engineer
                                                   What to study
                                Exam Pressure=
                                                  No.of Days Left

This work still suits best for me... Really a tough call in Accountancy and Research

It's been a great experience here at Management institute
for leadership and excellence continuously giving exam's for
10 day's was really a new and thrilling experience. Exams
are stressful enough without worrying about having the
right notebook I was busy in making and collecting notes Or
worrying about finding the right book, or cared about
reaching there on time. I was worrying about running out of
time while writing exam. As nightmarish as it sounds, this is
the story of every student. Working collaborates with each
other to learn as much as we can within a single night,
arranging important questions and guessing case study that
might come. It was really fun, lot of learning, memories and
specially the first exam experience at MILE where your
small mistake can through you out of the class really a strict conduction of exam was
really a good moment to cherish for.

The Exam Season has finally come to an end for the First
Trimester. I never thought i would be able to give exams
again after working for 3 years and not studying at all
during the time. It was like a big burden if i would be able
to cope up with the studies at MILE and specially exams. It
has been a great first time experience of being in Hostel
and studying for exams. The best part being it never use
to feel like there is an exam next day and we never used to
study. Our studies use to start around 4-5 in the morning
till the examination time. Being a B.Sc. student it was very
difficult to cope up with Accounts and Economics, and i
don't know how but these were the first two exams and it
felt like no more burden at all. Over all as the dates were
nearing to end syllabus folders were getting deleted day
by day and the happiness of doing that was on another level. Finally on the final day paper
got finished within an hour and the best paper it was. Despite the minimal efforts put in the
end was great and as they say
*All's well that ends well*

NEVER JUDGE OTHERS, YOU NEVER KNOW THEIR PART OF THE STORY !
                                           Harsh Chhalotere
A teacher was teaching mathematics to few students of nursery
he called upon a six year old boy Arnav. He asked “If I give you 2
mangoes and 2 mangoes. How many will you have?” Arnav said
5, the teacher asked again, Arnav If I give you 2 mangoes first
and 2 mangoes later. How many will it be? Again he replied 5.
The teacher was pissed off but remembered that Arnav’s mom
had once said that Arnav doesn’t like mangoes, he likes
strawberries. So she changed her example, if I give you 2
strawberries and 2 strawberries, how many will you have? Now
he replied 4, oh! The teacher was pleased by the change of
strategy. Just to confirm that Arnav had understood his math
right. She again asked him “if I give you 2 mangoes and 2 mangoes. How many will you
have?” he replied 5, the teacher was annoyed. How can 2 strawberries and 2 strawberries be
4 and 2 and 2 mangoes be 5?Arnav replied I already have 1 mango in my bag madam, who
was right? Was the teacher wrong? No, because 2 plus 2 is 4. Was Arnav wrong? No because
2 plus 2 is 4 and 1 mango was in his bag which made it 5. Is it not a fact that all kinds of
conflicts come because of the gap between technical and practical rightness. The teacher was
technically right. Technical rightness means to see the obvious. Practical rightness means to
see what is visible and Arnav was practically right. It means to see beyond the obvious. It
means to see beyond what is visibly seen and it means to see the hidden mango. Ladies and
gentlemen very often all our conflicts arises because of the gap between the technical and
practical rightness. Whenever you find that your spouse does not love you enough, yes you
maybe technically right’ He or she may not actually love you that much. But are you
practically right? Practical rightness means to see the hidden mango. Why is he or she not
loving you? Your child may not be listening to you and may be you are technically right, but
are you practically right? Practical rightness means trying to see the hidden mango beyond
the obvious. Why your child is not behaving right, the next time you see someone not fitting
into your definition of what is technically right. Please do not be judgmental, Go beyond the
obvious, Go beyond what you can see and try to look the hidden mango which will truly help
you to understand the person and resolve the conflicting situation that you are in. thank you!

Respecting Women !
                         Rishi Mukherjee
Woman, fountain of life is denied a place in social life
Women in the world has lot of posts to hold in life of an
individual such as mother, without whom existence of
people in this universe is not possible, wife who acts as
a backbone of an individual till the last breath of their
partner, sister who go to any extent to pull out their
brother from the entrance of hell and many other roles
to play which cannot be expressed in words. Still the
situation of those godly figures is worst once they are
trapped by any kind of mental health problem as their
families for whom the women sacrificed their life are
now ready to sacrifice that godly figure just to maintain
"so called" social reputation.
When the world is talking about development, innovations and breaking shackles of
orthodox mind set, the shocking condition of women comes to mind where the family
cannot accept their own daughter if she is raped, not a single man is ready to marry a rape
victim.Family of girls is believed to pay heavy dowry just to maintain social reputation. In
this era of technology, people think that it is the women who are responsible for birth of a
girl child or a boy child. Families are not ready to adopt an orphan child even if the couple
is infertile. And they create pressure on women by saying "apna khoon apna hota hai".
People have a mindset that only girl can be infertile not the boy even after the proof given
by medical science that in India it is 50:50 ratio of infertility among men and women.
India is a place where ministers or we can say that so called responsible citizens of the
country who make and amend laws defend boys for rape saying "ladke hai, rape ho jata
hai".
A country where women goddesses are worshiped, this kind of reality is hard to believe.
Women become easy prey to the society just because of orthodox mindset of people living
in the country.
If we take a close look at all these situations we can conclude that most of these things
happen in our country, just to maintain social reputation and because of "social stigma"
attached to the mindset of people of the country.

HE, IRON MAN IS OUR SARDAR!: THE TALLEST, THE GRANDEST
The one who won over British leaders in the Satyagrah of Kheda and Bardoli, Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel was the Bismarck of Modern India, who led the welfare of farmers. He is
renowned as the architect of independent India, as he united all diverse 562 princely states
to build one great Republic of India. Shri. Narendra Modi decided to pay honorable tribute
which will be cherished for centuries by the whole world and it will become a matter of pride
for every Indian for this great man. Built in less than five years, it is the world’s tallest,
grandest and giant statue. It is a tribute to the man who united India, Sardar Patel. The
Statue will stand high, not just in meters and feet, but much more in terms of
academic, historical, national and spiritual values. My vision is to develop the
place as a source of inspiration for ages to come.
Much before his foray into the freedom struggle one can see the force of his iron will power in
his passionate pursuit of law as a career. Gifted with an ingenious mind, Sardar always
wanted to become a barrister. However, in those days, to realize this dream, one had to go to
England. Having been born to a common farmer's family, he had no financial means to join a
college even in India, let alone travel to England.
However, such hindrances were never a deterrent for the young man of steel determination
for he found a way to achieve his dreams. He taught himself. His first step was to borrow
books from a lawyer friend and study from home, and for practical training he started
attending court sessions to closely observe every argument being made. Needless to say, the
young man passed with flying colors and started his practice in Godhra.
Another facet of his character and compassion is seen when later on he had the capacity to
travel abroad, but allowed his elder brother Vitthalbhai, who too was a lawyer, to go to
England for higher studies in Law first. Only after his brother's return did he himself leave for
England, where he stood first in the Barrister-at-Law examination.
Sardar Patel's foray into the freedom struggle was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, who he met
during a meeting in Godhra. From then on they became friends and Patel started following
Gandhiji's activities, especially his success in the Champaran Satyagraha.

The defining moment for the Sardar came when in 1918; Kheda was inundated and
devastated by floods. With their crops damaged, farmers asked for relief from the heavy
taxes the British government had ensued but to no avail. Gandhiji joined in the fight but
could devote his entire attention to Kheda's struggle. As he was looking for a person to take
up the cause of the farmers in his absence, Sardar volunteered. As always he never did
anything half-hearted, and his first step was giving up his well-paying legal practice and
joining the non-cooperation movement by switching over to Khadi clothes. The struggle was
a resounding success with the British government agreeing to hold talks with Sardar, and
later on agreeing to his terms of rolling back the tax rates. From then on, there was no
looking back for this Son of the Soil.

Amritsar train disaster
An Indian railways passenger train crashed into
a crowd of people in the eastern outskirts
of Amritsar on 19 October 2018. The crowd had
gathered to watch celebrations for
the Hindu festival of Dussehra and were standing
on the tracks. The accident occurred in the early
evening, killing at least 59 people and injuring an
additional 100.

Incident
According to local police and news media, the spectators were standing
and sitting on or near the tracks in the Joda
Phatak area in the outskirts of Amritsar. The
spectators were watching the burning of
an effigy of demon Ravana as part of the
Dussehra festival, when a commuter train ran
into the crowd. The train was described as
a multiple diesel unit (DMU) local passenger
train travelling westbound from Jalandar
station to Amritsar. Witnesses claimed that
another train, the Amritsar – Howrah mail service, had passed in the opposite direction
moments earlier, and this was later confirmed by the gateman in charge of the junction.
Several witnesses claimed that the train did not blow its horn when it got close to the crowds
of spectators. The driver said that he both honked and applied the emergency brakes but did
not come to a complete halt because the crowd had begun to pelt the train with stones.
Local Congress politician Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of the member of legislative assembly
for Amritsar East was the guest of honor at the event. She said she had left the site shortly
before the accident occurred but that she returned as soon as she heard about it. Sidhu also
said that the celebration was held there every year and that the railway authorities were
alerted in advance of the need to moderate their speed.

Victims
An official told reporters that elected officials confirmed that at least 59 people were killed in
the accident. By the evening of 19 October, 50 bodies had been discovered and at least 50
people had been admitted to a nearby hospital while the other nine bodies were found the
next day. Due to the force of the train's impact, many victims were dismembered or mutilated
beyond recognition, which delayed the body identification
A local official said that most of the victims were migrant workers and their families from
the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who lived in the area. Punjab Chief Minister Singh
visited some of the survivors and family members of the dead at a local hospital, on 20
October. During his visit two women met with him who had reportedly lost their entire
families, including children, husbands and even in-laws.
The majority of those identified were cremated at the Shitala Mata Temple in Amritsar,
while a few others were sent back to their hometowns. Allegations were reported to the local
media, that after the accident some of the crowd stole valuables of the victims and survivors;
family members also reported that only the bodies of their relatives were returned but not
their effects.
