ENTRY REQUIREMENTS • Honours degree in Business PLUS an IELTS score of 6.5 or above for candidates who do not hold a degree-level qualification wholly taught and examined in English OR • Five years’ work experience in a management position, with evidence of managerial responsibility OR • Three years’ work experience at managerial level with significant responsibility for resources (staff, financial, physical etc. or a combination of these) PLUS a non-related degree 12

TIMETABLES Each unit is made up of 12 topics delivered via lectures, tutorial and/or seminars, and private study. Each unit is assessed by either an assignment or an exam. EXAM CYCLE Assessments for all units will be offered in two assessment cycles each year: • Summer (May/June) • Winter (Nov/December) RESULTS Performance in each unit will be assigned one of four grades: • Distinction (>70%) • Merit (60 – 69%) • Pass (>40 – 59%) • Fail (
EXAMPLE TIMETABLES FOR UNIT CERTIFICATE 6 MONTHS 8-9 hrs per week for 24 weeks ie 19 weeks of lectures, tutorials/seminars and private study, and 5 weeks to complete the assessment. Start January for Summer assessment or July for Winter assessment 3 MONTHS – condensed course 16-18 hours per week for 12 weeks ie 9.5 weeks of lectures, tutorials/seminars and private study, and 2.5 weeks to complete the assessment. Start March for Summer assessment or September for Winter assessment 28

CERTIFICATION Candidates achieve the Diploma on passing 6 of the 8 available units within the 3 year eligibility period. Successful candidates will receive: • A certificate bearing the signatures of the Director, Quality and the Chairman of the Academic Board; and • A Record of Achievement indicating the grade for each unit (Pass, Merit, Distinction) Candidates achieve the Unit Certificate on passing 1 of the 8 available units. They will receive a certificate indicating their achievement in that unit eg NCC Education Level 7 Unit Certificate in Strategic Management 31
