SELF CARE Starts WITH YOU STEP 1 Do a Self Check-up STEP 2 Engage in self care strategies based on your findings Talk to trusted friends, family and/or school supports about STEP 3 what you are learning Talk to your support network or doctor about signs and STEP 4 symptoms you experience that do not improve or worsen Keep TEXT, Website and Hotline numbers in your phone for STEP 5 24-hour support. You matter every hour of the day and so do those you care for. 5/11/2021 24
STEP 1 – Make the Time to do a self check-in. Below are two well researched tools that provide free screenings so that you can assess your current satisfaction levels and mental wellness. Our mental health should be screened at least annually just like our physical health as the two are inseparable. Right Direction Right Direction is a unique program that gives employers a menu of tools to talk about depression at the workplace. At the ready are educational resources, including a dedicated website, 12 unique posters, intranet content, e-mail templates, and PowerPoint presentations. Materials can be customized to reflect the organization’s branding and/or promote specific health resources. ICU ICU is a 5-minute educational video that uses the analogy of an intensive care unit to teach employees about emotional health and how to appropriately connect and support with distressed coworkers. Low Cost – No Cost Behavioral Health Trainings: The Health and Human Services Summit: is a no-cost training, education, and networking event presented by Flagler Cares and One Voice for Volusia for health and human services professionals as well as other community partners and volunteers in Volusia and Flagler Counties hosted virtually.
