Known across the aisles as an impeccable gentleman committed to putting his constituents first, Congressman Hall dedicated his life to ensure a high quality of life for millions of North Texans. April 2019 News Stream ANNUAL MAINTENANCE ENDS APRIL 1 Our annual temporary change in disinfectant period ends April 1. This routine, month-long process is critical to delivering safe drinking water for more than 1.7 million North Texans. By completing this maintenance each spring before the temperatures rise, we are best able to maintain the system and ensure high water quality year-round. It may take a few days for the full conversion across the entire system back to chloramines for disinfection. Learn More TEXAS BOATERS HELP STOP SPREAD OF ZEBRA MUSSELS IN LAKES Great news! A recent statewide study done by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) found no new lakes infested with invasive zebra mussels. TPWD and partners monitor more than 60 lakes for early detection or population monitoring of zebra mussels. Continue to do your part to protect Texas lakes - help spread the word on how Texas boaters should always clean, drain and dry their boats. Read the Full Release 2 of 6
April 2019 News Stream WORKING TOGETHER TO PROTECT THE LAVON WATERSHED Meet Ryann Cline - a new full-time technician with the Collin County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD). Ryann's work will focus in the Lavon Lake Watershed thanks to a grant received from the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB). This position is vital to implement aspects of the Lavon Lake Watershed Protection Plan. Working with these agencies and others is an ongoing, collaborative effort protect water quality and the health of our watershed. Simpson Ecopark, on campus at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, will demonstrate how green infrastructure and resource-efficient building practices contribute to sustainable urban and suburban development. This free family fun day at the Wetlands includes live bluegrass music, live animal presentations, education and partnership booths, kids’ activities, face painting, eagle tours, food trucks, ice cream, and, of course - mudbugs, (aka crawfish)!
