Key Stage 2 SATS } The new curriculum was assessed for the first time in May 2016 } This year’s tests are timetabled from Monday 11th to Thursday 14th May 2020 } There is science sampling for this academic year.
What’s changed The new set of tests was introduced in May 2016 which link progress with Year Group Expectations (YGE) rather than giving a level. All pupils take just one set of tests. The tests include a small number of questions to stretch the most able pupils.
Explaining the changes All test outcomes at both KS1 and KS2 are reported as a scaled score. The national standard is 100. Raw scores (the number of marks awarded for each subject) will be translated to scaled scores (a comparable score for each subject) using a conversion table). Pupils will receive a raw score, a scaled score and confirmation of attainment of the national standard.
