Keeping Leicester Learning Along with organisations and venues across the country we have reviewed and adapted our buildings and ways of working to reduce the risk from COVID-19. Our procedures and risk assessments have been reviewed by Leicester City Council, Trade Unions and staff and we have been approved to re-open as COVID secure venues. Key changes include: n Please do not attend if you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 but let us know, especially if you have tested positive. n Please arrive in good time for your class to allow for check in procedures and leave immediately after the session. n You will only be allowed access to the building if you are expected for a lesson or have an appointment. n Buildings will not be open to the wider public for events, exhibitions and meetings until further notice. n All enrolments and enquiries will be by telephone, online or by appointment only. n At the Adult Education College, you will access the college either from Belvoir St or Wellington St, depending on the location of your classroom. There will be no internal access between the two blocks. n Your contact details will be recorded on arrival in line with track and trace requirements. n You will be required to sanitise your hands on arrival and at other times during your visit. n Only one household or support bubble will be allowed in the lift at a time. n Desks in classrooms will be spaced at least 2m apart and you will not be allowed to re-arrange the furniture. Everyone must maintain 2m social distancing during class. n You will be expected to wear a face covering in accordance with government guidance. n Cafes and refreshment facilities will not be open, so please bring your own refreshments if required. n In many cases group sizes will be significantly smaller and many courses will be split, with half the group attending one session and the other half the next. You will be provided with work to do from home in the intervening week. n On entering the classroom you will be provided with a cleansing wipe to clean the desk/computer you are going to use. n Additional cleaning of toilets and key ‘touch points’ will be undertaken throughout the day. n As far as possible please bring your own stationery and equipment/materials. Where tools and equipment are shared your tutor will advise you on the procedures for cleansing and/or quarantining after use. n If you display any of the symptoms of COVID 19 – a temperature, persistent cough etc - you will be provided with a face mask and asked to go home, get tested and self-isolate. n In accordance with the LASALS exclusions policy, any student failing to comply with these arrangements and putting staff and other students at risk, may be removed from the course. n If you have any concerns please raise them immediately with your tutor or call 0116 4541900. We thank you in advance for your co-operation and support in creating a safe learning environment.
