To accept operational and capital budget. To approve Councillour Williams’ Jan 8 – May 6, 2019 expense report in the amount of $822.00. To approve amendments to Bylaw#468-12 The Dog Control Bylaw. To approve the revised and amended Policy#1003 – Travel, Subsistence & Honorarium Policy. 4 Attention Dog Owners, If you’ve recently added a new furry member to your family, please remember that all dogs over 3 months of age must be licensed. Stop by the village office to register your dog and purchase the license for $15.00.Pursuant to the Dog Control Bylaw #468-12 LAST YEAR’S DOG OWNER If you don’t own a dog anymore, please let the Village Office know that we know it is not an outstanding payment for the dog license. Thank you for your cooperation! Welcome Shantelle to the Village of Heisler Team! She will be our Public Works Assistant for this summer, and we hope she will enjoy working for the Village as much as the rest of our great team does! This position is partially funded by STEP - the Summer Temporary Employment Program Dear Dog Owner! On May 16 regular Council Meeting, The Coucil of Heisler amended Bylaw # 468-12 Dog Control Bylaw with following addition: 4.8 DEFECATION a) The owner or any other person having care or control of a dog, shall forthwith remove any defecation left by it on public property or private property other than that of the owner. b) The owner or any other person having care or control of a dog, shall ensure that defecation apparently left by it on the property of the owner does not accumulate to such an extent that it is reasonably likely to annoy or pose a health risk to others. c) Penalties as described in Schedule A.5 SCHEDULE A.5 PENALTY FOR FIRST OFFENSE $100.00 PENALTY FOR SECOND OFFENSE $200.00 PENALTY FOR SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE DOUBLE FROM PREVIOUS OFFENSE

7 The Village of Heisler the Community of Champions! Joe Martz, Jordan McIntyre, James Martz, Brandon Martz and Claude Fell for repairing the Village Picnic Table Shelter. They did an amazing job. Residents, sports and campground visitors will now be able to enjoy the facility for many more years! And again a big Thank you to the Heisler Elks for the generous donation for the material! CONTEST open to all Heisler area residents. The Community Spirit Calendar for 2020 needs your help in choosing a picture. Anyone with interest in photography can submit a picture best showing Heisler and area. A monetary gift certificate from a local business will be awarded to the winner. The deadline is July 31, 2019. This community calendar is a great fundraiser for the library! Bring a print into the library or e-mail your digital photo as high resolution JPG file to heislerlibrary@prl.ab.ca

The Heisler library is a proud member of the Parkland Regional Library system, a cooperative of 50 public libraries across central Alberta. With your free library membership, you are a member of 50 other libraries and have access to their services. You can also join other Alberta library systems. Alberta Wide Borrowing (ME Libraries) Library members can register with non-Parkland public libraries across the province to easily borrow physical items (not eContent) using their Parkland Regional Library card. Borrowed materials can be returned to any public library, too. All this free! Our ‘ free little library’ is up and If you would like to serve on the Heisler li- running. Square Dance is for old people! You had to learn it in school and you hated it! Or you never learned it! But if I tell you… It is actually more walking, than dancing! It is an activity for people of all ages! I promise it can be so much fun! Everybody can learn it (even me)! I am looking for people of all ages, who would be interested in forming a Square Dance Group, or maybe somebody who used to be a Square Dance Caller in the past. If interested, talk to Heidi at the Village office!
