January - August 2018 Moya Brennan: The Voice of Clannad (Friday 9 March) Tickets available online at www.junctiongoole.co.uk Box Office: 01405 763652 @junction_goole | junction goole
Welcome As we move thankfully towards Spring, we’re delighted to welcome you to Junction’s new season of theatre, dance, music, comedy and family arts. It also heralds the arrival of our new box office system – you may notice some changes in your ticket buying as a result, much easier on-line booking for example but it will also mean we have to re-register existing customers, so please bear with us. It’s a particularly strong season for family work, with the wonderful Wrongsemble’s version of The Selfish Giant, a brand new production of the timeless TV classic Noggin the Nog, a return visit by Northern Ballet (please book early as they always sell out) and those great magicians Morgan and West. The top notch music programme kicks off with the Songs of Leonard Cohen, moves through Americana to the haunting vocals of Moya Brennan, the voice of Clannad and ends with a return visit from Gavin Bryars. The internationally renowned composer, born and raised in Goole, will perform for the first time ever with Wesley Stace, whose mother Molly went to Kingsway School with Gavin. We love digging up these connections and bringing them to you! In March we have our next TakeOver Festival, the result of months of hard work by pupils at Boothferry Primary School. We think TakeOver is unique to Junction, the only venue to put on an arts festival programmed entirely by 9 and 10 year olds - they will also be helping run box office, front of house, publicity and even the technical side of things. Do come and support them. There’s also a heathy crop of shows from more local groups such as Read’s Warblers, Castaway and Spoken Word’s latest production, Little Voice. All this together with our film and youth workshop programmes make Junction an incredibly busy centre of activity for the town and the area – we hope to welcome you soon.
