Premier and Championship Interpretive Event Round* (Levels Tot-FS 10) This opportunity allows skaters to advance to another round and compete against the best of the best! All skaters Tot-FS 10 can enter the Interpretive Event, which allows them to advance to a Premier/Championship round. For the first round, skaters compete in traditional event groups by age (as in a typical ISI competition) and receive medals based on their placement. Skaters who place first or second in each group advance to the Championship round, and the remaining skaters advance to the Premier round. Skaters perform a separate Interpretive Event with new music in the Premier/Championship groups on the last day of the competition. The final groups are divided by age in these levels — Tot-Delta, FS 1-3 & Bronze, FS 4-5 & Silver, FS 6-7 & Gold and FS 8-10 & Platinum. The scoring criteria for both rounds will be the same as traditional ISI Interpretive events. All skaters receive trophies and team points based on their final placement. Skaters who cannot attend the initial round will be able to participate in the final round; however, they will be placed into a Premier grouping. Arrangements must be made in advance. Show-style lighting will be used for the final round of the event. There is a maximum of nine skaters per event group. Participation is optional in the final round and does not require an additional fee. The final round features an on-ice awards ceremony with special trophies. Take part in this unique opportunity! * These events are considered "created events" for this competition. The event guidelines and judging criteria will not be found in the ISI Handbook.

The District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors registering for this program must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities. You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child/ward are physically fit and/or adequately skilled for ice-skating activities. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity. Warning of Risk Ice-skating is intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental and emotional resources of the participant. All hazards and dangers cannot be foreseen. The very nature of ice- skating is risky, including but not limited to slip and falls, colliding with other players of varying degrees of skill (including being struck from behind), tripping on irregular ice surfaces, cuts from skate blades, inadequate or defective equipment, ill-fitting skates, failure in supervision or instruction, horseplay, carelessness, poor technique, poor conditioning, rule violations, striking a stationary object, premises defects outside the rink, and all other risks inherent to the sport of ice-skating. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the District to guarantee absolute safety. Photo/Video Policy The Northbrook Park District takes photos and video of participants in classes, during special events and in the parks. By signing the waiver, you are giving permission to the District to use these photos and video in District publications and on our website and social media outlets. All photos and video are the property of the District. Waiver and Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in this program/activity, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program/activity (including transportation services and vehicle operations, when provided). I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program/activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in this program/activity against the District, including its officials, agents, volunteers and employees. I further agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the District harmless against any and all liability, loss, expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, or claims for injury or damages arising out of my participation (or my minor child/ward’s participation) in this activity; but only in proportion to and to the extent such liability, loss, expense, attorney’s fees, or claims for injury or damages are caused by or result from my or my minor child’s/ward’s acts(s) or omission(s). I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, photo/video policy, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims, and indemnification agreement. If registering online or via fax, my signature shall substitute for and have the same legal effect as an original form signature. A signature is required for each participant 18 years or older and one signature for all minor children/dependants. Note: The Northbrook Park District does not carry medical or accident insurance for its participants. The cost of such insurance would make programs cost prohibitive.
