Thank you for attending tonight’s celebration of everything that is brilliant about our industry. It’s a special anniversary too, this is the 10th time we’ve held the Institute of Recruitment Professionals annual awards and it’s our biggest ever! This evening’s event highlights the great work done by individual recruiters and companies across the whole of the United Kingdom. It is testament to the skill and professionalism you all show that our jobs market is doing so well – contributing to the prosperity of families and helping companies grow. Navigating these changing times in the industry, markets, technology, skills needs and legislation is no small task and our job at the REC is to shout about the great work you do. Being shortlisted for the IRP Awards is a huge achievement and a cause for celebration, well done to you all. To those of you who have made it into the winner’s hall of fame, congratulations! It was a huge step to join this challenging and highly competitive sector but she has seized every opportunity to excel and develop. Within 12 months, on completion of her Apprenticeship, she was made a Junior Consultant, followed in April this year by a promotion to Recruitment Consultant within Admiral Recruitment’s Temporary Division. Mehreen demonstrates the highest values for the industry and is an inspiration to all consultants joining. She came in as an apprentice and now mentors two others, she works weekends if needed, goes on client sites and writes an industry blog.
