ITEA PO Days A recipe for success! ITEA PO-Days - 300+ participants, ~15 countries - ~70 ideas uploaded in project idea tool - ~60 project ideas presented as a poster - ~50 ideas pitched during the parallel pitch sessions Normally >75% of the submitted POs are initially presented at the preceding PO Preparation Days. Example evaluation quotes by participants: The iterative matchmaking approach of the ITEA PO Days are the most efficient way of finding European partners of any EU research programme bar none. The PO Days event is an opportunity to do what I call a mix between speed dating and a hackathon at the same time, to come up with an idea that we wouldn’t be able to come up with ourselves. SAVE THE DATE 8-9 September 2020 ITEA PO Days for ITEA 3 Call 7 Helsinki 16

ITEA Success stories with Korean participation 18
MOS2S Media Orchestration - Sensor to Screen MOS2S aims to develop and test audio-visual Smart City technologies and embed these solutions in a dedicated Smart Venue Playground. The Smart Venue Playground can accelerate new, unique Smart City applications that improve profitability, sustainability, safety and customer experience. Start date: October 2016 End date: September 2019 MOS2S webpage https://itea3.org/project/mos2s.html 19
MOS2S Impact highlight – Ultra Wide Vision Ultra-Wide Vision world first: ‘Experience events in real life and real time’ Soccer match played live in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, the Netherlands Watched in real life and real time in Daejeon, South Korea Thanks to Ultra-Wide Vision technology, the entire stadium was displayed in panoramic high resolution 20
DANGUN Intelligent Perception System for Autonomous Vehicles Electric vehicles, connectivity and autonomous driving functions will revolutionise the automotive domain, which is a major challenge for vehicle manufacturers. The DANGUN project developed a Traffic Jam Assist System with autonomous capabilities and a Tele- Operation System, using low-cost automotive components. Start date: Sep 2016 End date: Aug 2019 21
DANGUN First exploitation results In March 2019, the Hanyang University and LG already demonstrated a self- driving car smoothly manoeuvring its way through the busy streets of Seoul on a Monday, aided by and broadcasted live on a 5G network: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyKVOVUqOgE (Korean news edition). LGE will begin producing 600 thousand sets of the AVM system in 2019 and 6 million sets of the single camera in 2021, resulting in an expected market share increase of 20 to 30%. Valeo is now testing in Korea, anticipating a market of 50 million units per year for both their front camera and corner radar by 2022. Meanwhile, OEMs have used the research platform to test the LGE single camera and AVM system, reducing development time by over 30% and allowing them to enter new markets. 22
IMPONET Big data technology for a more efficient electricity supply IMPONET addressed the modelling, design and implementation of a comprehensive, flexible and configurable information system to meet the most complex and advanced requirements in electrical energy management. Start date: December 2010 End date: March 2013 23
IMPONET Impact highlights The IMPONET project enabled higher energy efficiencies for utilities of between 5 and 10% with cost saving for consumers of around 10%. Indra's Web Portal for Residential Customer Meter Data was deployed for the overall customer base of Gas Natural Fenosa, which is in excess of 3 million customers. In the future, Gas Natural Fenosa will be rolling out this platform for other market segments and in other parts of the world, mainly in South America. Wooam used the project results to help establish a smart grid test bed in Jeju for the KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) consortium for the development of an Electric Vehicle Charge Infrastructure Unified Management System and the Advanced Metering Infrastructure. 24
RECONSURVE Reconfigurable Surveillance System with Communicating Smart Sensors The project developed a complete maritime surveillance system with smart sensor data processing, situational awareness, the ability to use several platforms with a variety of sensor types and advanced algorithm-based capabilities for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and thermal cameras. Start date: January 2011 End date: June 2015 25
RECONSURVE End user-oriented and commercially viable The RECONSURVE project had a large user orientation; the Turkish Coast Guard Command participated in the project as an end user. In 2013, the project won the EUREKA Korea Day Award for the most innovative and commercially viable project. GMT Exploitation - GMT is supplying the RECONSURVE results to the Korea Coast Guard by providing a solution for managing automatic entry and departure of fishing vessels, responding to distress incidents, and the monitoring of illegal fishing. - The improved artificial intelligence algorithm has been applied to the SMART-Navigation system of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Korea, to comprehensively analyse and monitor the maritime risk situation. - Through the licensing of marine terminals and analysis systems developed through the project, GMT generated an income of about €1410 k. - “Before we started participating in the EUREKA world around seven years ago, our annual revenue was USD 4 million. Now it has more than tripled, to 14 million. And I expect this year to be in the region of 20 million. I think it is fair to say that this would not have happened without our involvement in projects like RECONSURVE.” 26
CAP Collaborative analytics platform The CAP (Collaborative Analytic Platform) project created a platform incorporating open Big Data tools and features that all participants can use and enhance, thus enabling access to data, sharing and processing in real-time facilitated by a single platform. A key deliverable was the new range of business models that established metrics for the value of Big Data. Start date: Nov 2013 End date: Oct 2016 27
CAP Impact highlights Turkcell Technology created a partnership with a large industry company and established a real time IoT data flow from fuse boards. There are plans to integrate this same model for restaurant and market chains, which is a great opportunity for Turkcell Technology to enter new markets, with more than 20,000 market chains and 5,000 restaurant chains as potential users. ETRI had developed a concrete CAP platform with multitenant architecture. Based on this platform, Innodep developed the interactive CCTV monitoring service. Innodep received great interest in introducing this service to several exhibitions and local district surveillance centres in Korea and has been implementing the steps for its commercial product. For application in various domains as well as CCTV, ETRI has been developing the next platform following CAP, whereby data interoperability and distribution among different platforms are being advanced. Fraud on the franking marks was examined by highlighting the customers and/or the products where the legal manual controls may be the most cost-effective. Several million euros may be recovered with the same control workforces. Furthermore, La Poste Group decided in 2016 to invest in Probayes, a French SME with great success in data science, to accelerate the digital transition. 28
