Pirate Life 2018 SA Boulder Titles 2 Event Format and Information 2.1 Registration To register for the event and be eligible for a state and national ranking, competitors must be a current SCSA member. SCSA membership: https://sportclimbingaustralia.org.au/join-us Event registration: https://sportclimbingaustralia.org.au/Upcoming-Events/ Early bird registration: Standard fee minus $10 (until 13 July 2018) Standard fee: $45 Late entry fee: Standard fee plus $10 (after 25 July 2018) 2.2 Age Groups Youth D: born 2007 or after C: born 2005/2006 B: born 2003/2004 A: born 2001/2002 Junior: born 1999/2000 Open A and B: born 2002 or before Masters: born 1978 or before Please note each age group will have a male and female category. 2.3 Event format For each age group a total of two hours climbing time will be allocated for each event, as set out at 2.4. Open A will have an additional finals round. The competition style for each group will be as follows: Youth D: Pumpfest Youth C: Pumpfest Youth B: Boulderjam (x7 problems) Youth A: Boulderjam (x7 problems) Junior: Boulderjam (x7 problems) Open B: Pumpfest Open A: Boulderjam (x5 problems) followed by a 5 on/5 off final round Masters: Pumpfest In a pumpfest, competitors climb a selection of problems and the scores of their hardest eight tops contribute to their final score. Attempts may be considered where scores of competitors are level. In a boulderjam, competitors attempt a set number of problems, with the total number of tops, attempts and zones, contributing to their final score. Participants will be provided a full briefing on the rules before the commencement of their session. Pirate Life 2018 SA Boulder Titles 2.5 Event Officials Event Organiser: Sidney Dunn Jury President: Jana Phan Head Judge: Jason Gatehouse Head Route Setter: Daniel Berry 2.6 Youth and Junior Competitors in Open A Youth and Junior competitors who wish to compete in Open A as well as their age category will need to register and pay for both categories. 2.7 Interstate Competitors Interstate competitors may compete but are not eligible for the South Australian Title. Interstate competitors are eligible for national level ranking if they are current SCA national level members. 2.8 International Competitors International competitors may compete but are not eligible for the South Australian Title. International competitors must be members of SCSA. 2.9 Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority As an Olympic Sport, Sport Climbing is now subject to anti-doping controls, managed by Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) in Australia. Anti-doping plays an important part in keeping competitors safe and competitions fair. Sports Climbing Australia is working with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency (ASADA) to keep the sport clean. Drug testing may take place at any national competition and members of the Australian Team are also subject to random testing in and out of the competition season.
