1,164 ACRES | 1 PUBLIC ACCESS | 13.1 MILES OF SHORELINE Extremely picturesque, Fish Trap Lake is made up of many beautiful bays, islands, and points. Bald Eagles make their home along the shores and can be seen soaring almost every summer day. Deer come to the shoreline for a drink while loons swim by, mothers carrying their young on their backs. Fish Trap Lake is 1163.81 acres and has 13.12 miles of shoreline. The deepest point is 42 feet off the northeast shore. It has a median depth of 20.5 feet. Approximately 30 percent of the lake is less than 15 feet. The public access is located on the west shore with a double-wide concrete ramp, loading dock, and parking for 24 rigs. Fish Trap has always been known for its great fishing. According to the Department of Natural Resources office in Little Falls, the lake supports a decent population of walleye with natural reproduction and stocking both contributing to the fishery. Northern pike are found in good numbers, though the bulk of the population is less than three pounds. Anglers are encouraged to keep small pike and release large ones to help restore balance to the lake’s fish community. Largemouth bass of all sizes are plentiful. In recent years, crappie fishing has been excellent year-round. Whether you want to build sand castles on the beach, catch your first fish, catch the trophy of a lifetime, or view the scenic landscape from your lounge chair, Fish Trap Lake is a great choice. Discover a warm, carefree vacation at one of the resorts or the campground. It’ll be an experience you will always remember.
2,730 ACRES | 3 PUBLIC ACCESSES | 16.2 MILES OF SHORELINE Lake Alexander is 2,730 acres in size with 16.2 miles of shoreline. The deepest point is 64 feet and the average depth is 28 feet. Approximately 31 percent of the lake is less than 15 feet. The fishing is great on Alec, as it’s affectionately called. According to the Department of Natural Resources office in Little Falls, the primary management of this lake is directed at maintaining the walleye population. The substantial walleye fishery is the result of regular stocking. Since 1995, fry stocking has produced an abundance of fishable walleyes. Muskies are stocked every other year. Muskies of all sizes and exceeding 50 inches inhabit the lake which is known for good muskie catch rates. Small and largemouth bass are also abundant. Also available are northern pike, crappies, sunfish, and perch. There are two state-owned accesses on the east and west ends of the lake with parking available for a total of 45 rigs. A smaller township-owned access is available on the south side of the lake but has limited parking. Whether you’re looking for a high-powered fishing trip or a quiet family vacation, come to Lake Alexander for an unforgettable time.
1,434 ACRES | 2 PUBLIC ACCESSES | 10.3 MILES OF SHORELINE Lake Shamineau is the second largest lake in the area with a total of 1,434 acres. Its maximum depth is 52 feet with an average depth of 17 feet. Almost half of the lake’s depth is less than 15 feet. There are 10.34 miles of shoreline. There are two public accesses, one on the west shore operated by the State, and one on the east shore that is locally maintained. According to the Department of Natural Resources office in Little Falls, Shamineau offers a wide array of fishing opportunities. Northern pike are a primary target. The lake supports good numbers of walleye in all size ranges, including some trophies. Muskies are stocked every other year and a variety of sizes are present with the largest exceeding 30 pounds. For the bass angler, Shamineau is well known for giving up largemouths in the 5 to 6 pound class. Whether you’re taking your children fishing for panfish or going sport fishing, you are sure to like the action. So, grab your book, swimsuit, and your fishing pole and spend the best part of your summer with us.
183 ACRES | 1 PUBLIC ACCESS | 2.75 MILES OF SHORELINE At 183 acres, Crookneck Lake is one of the smaller lakes in the Lincoln Lakes Area. It has 2.75 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 21 feet, an average depth of 8.9 feet, with 75 percent of the lake 15 feet or less in depth. The west end boat access is well kept but has limited parking. According to the Department of Natural Resources office in Little Falls, largemouth bass are the main attraction, which is characterized by an abundance of aquatic vegetation. Bass up to and exceeding 20 inches continue to be present, but anglers should try to limit their bass harvest as reproduction is limited and the population is somewhat low. Abundant northern pike likely limit the bass population. Most pike are 2 to 4 pounds offering good opportunity for eating-size fish. Increased harvest of these smaller northern pike is desired because of their impacts on the fish community. Crookneck Lake is an ideal place to spend the day cruising for that trophy bass. All of the shoreline on this smaller lake is privately owned, which offers anglers a quiet day on the lake filled with tranquility and beauty.
