IdeaLab workshop – basic information What is an IdeaLab? ✓ an initiative designed to develop ground-breaking research and innovation projects ✓ the main element is a residential 5 day interactive workshop during which research projects are created ✓ a highly multidisciplinary mix of participants drives lateral thinking and radical approaches to address the research challenges ✓ the workshop formula encourages the participants to think outside the box, reconceive the world from new perspectives and generate new solutions and understanding Who takes part in an IdeaLab workshop? ✓ around 30 participants – active researchers and users of research outcomes from a broad range of disciplines and cultures, representing different expertise and backgrounds ✓ a director and a team of expert mentors who select the workshop participants, facilitate workshop discussions, challenge the proposed solutions and evaluate the created project proposals ✓ facilitators who design workshop activities, guide the director and mentors, run the workshop

How do I go about it? • EEA and Norway Grant Educational Guidelines have been made with the idea of minimising bureaucracy • All calls and relevant documents will be available on Dikus website www.diku.no including links to the Impementation Agency/Programme Operator websites in the BS • Project applications are submitted by the Project promoter in the BS – saving your administrative resources • However initiative can come from DS or BS • Projects are jointly developed with full budget provision to the DS project partner • At project conclusion reporting responsibility is with the BS
