Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Guidelines
for Earnings and Health Claims
With heightened scrutiny at this time from the FTC on Direct
Selling companies and their Consultants, and the actions they
are taking, we have outlined a summary of what is permitted
and not permitted to communicate when representing Norwex
in relation to both earnings and health claims. We will also
be offering a training next week to provide more support and
examples of what is permitted and what is considered illegal.

Here are the FTC Guidelines for Earnings and Health Claims
that must be followed:
Earnings:
FTC’s Position : Any claims about attaining a wealthy lifestyle
that isn’t the norm for all Consultants even if it is your story
is considered false and misleading unless all Consultants
generally achieve these results.
• Statements made must represent what is the general
expected achievement for all Consultants and be the typical
experience of all Consultants.
Health:
FTCs Position: It is unlawful to claim the prevention of disease
unless clinical trials have been completed. For COVID-19 there
are no such clinical scientific evidence and it is not permitted in
any context to mention COVID-19 or even “the times we are in”
in the context of the effectiveness of Norwex products.
In Summary:
The FTC will determine if a claim is lawful or unlawful based
on the net impression communicated through words, images,
hashtags, emoji’s and any other form of communication.

How it works:
Your Customer will select a potential date and time and select Book It! Once they do this, a confirmation
message will display letting them know that their Consultant (you) should be in touch with them soon.
One Booking Confirmation email will be sent to you as well. You will receive the same Booking
Confirmation email as your Customer and, coming soon, you will receive a Booking Notification SMS
(text message). If you have opted in to the Norwex Mobile Alerts’ Customer ordered on your website
