                                             This session includes a brief introduction to First 5 Forever and the
                                             importance of the coordinator's role for local families. The group will
                                             discuss the opportunities available through First 5 Forever to connect their
                                             IKC with families in their communities. Participants will have an
                                             opportunity to share successes and challenges delivering the program in
                                             their local community.

             Talk, Read, Sing, Play, Share Forever sessions by exploring the early literacy strategies highlighted in
             Messaging and story sharing the Stories for Little Queenslanders books. Participants will share
                                             experiences and ideas for collaboratively incorporating cultural knowledge
                                             and delivery into First 5 Forever programs.

2-3pm                                        Rhyme time: Participants have to the opportunity to practise sharing
                                             meaningful parent messaging in addition to discussing strategies for
                                             communicating with influence during First 5 Forever programs.

                                              take a local lead in community-based activities as part of the International
                                              Decade of Indigenous Languages.

                                                Find out about the various digital literacy/inclusion programs and

                                                focused programs that will capture and share culture, language and
                                                stories for future generations.

                  Digital inclusion             James and Alan will provide an interactive session with various digital
                                                tools and resources demonstrating how IKC Coordinators can use these
                                                to support digital skills and culture programs they are currently running in
                                                their IKC.

                                                There will also be a range of kits on display catering for beginners to
                                                advanced users, and an opportunity for IKC staff to discuss ways to build
                                                their skills and knowledge.

                                                Noel will share the story of how Perry Yunkaporta, Traditional Owner and
                                                Biocultural Team Leader Wik, engaged the community to develop the app
                                                ‘Kapp Thonam, a Wik Seasons Calendar’, which teaches the important
                                                knowledge of Aurukun’s seven seasons.

                                                Considering all the deadly work done during COVID by IKCs, it is an
                                                opportunity to reflect, capture learnings and review experiences during the
                                                lockdown and operating in a new environment since the reopening of

Acquittal process
  •    After the workshop, State Library will email you directly or via your Community Services Manager.
  •    You will be asked to complete the Acquittal Report by answering a series of questions.
  •    Your responses should be at least 150 words and include images of your participation in the workshop.
  •    Sample questions below will help with your acquittal.

  2.   What are some of the practical ways you will use this learning to further develop the programs and services at your IKC?
