IAPS Sport • Warwickshire U14 and U16 academies and Wasps U17 academy train at Rugby school and coaches liaise with players to ensure continuity of training is applied. • Training matches against the County Academies and Wasps academies take place frequently. TIMINGS • All Girls ‘s involved in County programmes are encouraged to attend Academy sessions throughout the year and the departments make all necessary arrangements 12 noon Arrival & registration to ensure players can arrive at representational matches outside of school time. • Weekly training sessions take place Monday and Wednesday evenings throughout 1pm Matches commence the year and on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Lent term. • Scholars receive 1:2:1 sessions specific to their positions, such as shooting clinics, 5pm Tea & presentations and interception workshops. • The U14 team are registered to play in a club league on Sunday mornings that plays from September to April. • The School enters the national school’s Netball competitions at U14, U16 and U18 age groups and the ISNC Smile cup at U15 and U19 age groups. • There is a bi-annual Tour to Singapore/Australia for the senior girl’s teams and a junior tour every 2 years, which means every netballer at the School will have a chance to tour twice in the Lower and the Upper School. TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND RULES FORMAT CAPTAINS • U11’s 10-minute matches (5 mins each way with a straight swap at half time) • Should toss for first centre pass or choice of goal end well before the start of play and 2 minutes between each match. have their team ready to go on court immediately the preceding match has finished • U12’s 14-minute matches (7 mins each way with a straight swap at half time) • Only the teams playing and their official coaches and reserves should be on the courts 2 minutes between each match. • Reserves and team coaches must stay at the same end throughout a match • U13’s 14-minute matches (7 mins each way with a straight swap at half time) • Failure to comply to this rule will have offenders banned to the outside of the courts 2 minutes between each match. for the remainder of the tournament • Only umpires should be down the middle of the court SCORING • This is important as it allows organisers to see if there is a problem • 5 points – win • Parents, other players’ and staff must be on the outside of the courts • 3 points – draw • 1 point for scoring 50% or more of the winning teams score LATE ARRIVALS • No team shall start a match with less than 5 players TIES • Late arrivals may not enter the game whilst play is in progress until allowed by the The group order will be decided by the number of points scored by each team.
