HYDROGEN WEBINAR SERIES After the successful hosting of the five-episode webinar series in 2020, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Innovation Network in China are planning on an in-depth follow-up webinar series for 2021. Diving deeper in the topic of hydrogen and providing an even better overview of the hydrogen sector in China and in the Netherlands. What is hydrogen, what policies do China and the Netherlands have, what are the major projects from the private sector, what are the latest developments on green hydrogen production and what’s the focus of the main research institutes and universities. HYDROGEN WEBINAR SERIES EPISODE OVERVIEW WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 10:00 (DUTCH TIME) EPISODE 1 - HYDROGEN PROJECTS IN CHINA: EXPERIENCES FROM THE SECTOR In the first episode, we will partner with the UNDP and we will focus on a more general introduction into the Chinese hydrogen sector and zoom in on the latest policy updates, developments and several Dutch companies with active hydrogen projects in China. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2021 10:00 (DUTCH TIME) EPISODE 2 - HYDROGEN INNOVATION PROJECTS IN THE NETHERLANDS In the second episode, we will partner with TKI New Gas and we will focus on a more general introduction into the Dutch hydrogen sector and zoom in on the latest policy updates, developments and recent impressive Dutch projects. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 09:00 (DUTCH TIME) EPISODE 3 - HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS: A SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PERSPECTIVE In the third episode, we will partner with the Guangdong Science and Technology Bureau we’ll explore the world of science and research behind hydrogen technology. Universities and knowledge institutes from both China and the Netherlands will talk about and introduce their latest research findings on several different hydrogen topics. GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM OFFSHORE WIND EPISODE SPEAKER PROFILES 4 Arjen Schutten Managing Director of Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) Arjen Schutten is the Managing Director of Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE), a wind power export association with a strong focus on emerging offshore wind power markets world-wide. Additionally, Arjen is Chairman of the Netherlands Export Commission for Wind Power. This commission advises on export related activities of the Dutch wind power sector. Before joining HHWE, Arjen worked for a Private Sector Investment Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Arjen is specialized in public-private partnerships. He earned his Master’s in Chinese language at Leiden University in the Netherlands. GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM OFFSHORE WIND EPISODE SPEAKER PROFILES 4 H.E. Mr. Wim Geerts Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the People’s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Wim Geerts joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988 and entered the Foreign Service, his first posting was in Singapore in 1989. Mr. Geerts currently serves as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to P.R. China. From 2016 till 2019 he was the Secretary General Ministry of Defence. Furthermore Mr. Geerts worked as Director General Political Affairs, Ambassador to Canada (Ottawa), and Deputy Director General Political Affairs. He has also served as Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington and several positions at the Prime Minister’s Office (including Foreign Policy and Defence Advisor to the Prime Minister). Having almost 25 years of internaional professional experience, being employed by Oil & Gas Companies, Civil Contractors and Engineering Consultants, Peter has built his experience in developing energy projects, taking into account project drivers, technical and economic risks and efficient work processes. During the last decade, Peter was intensively involved in the global energy transition. GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM OFFSHORE WIND EPISODE SPEAKER PROFILES 4 Ir. Remco de Boer Energy Transition Expert Ir. Remco de Boer is a researcher and publicist on the energy transition. He is the creator of the podcast Studio Energie (in English: Studio Energy), a weekly interview program. He is currently working on a book on Dutch energy and climate policy in recent years, which will be published in early 2022. Until last year he wrote a monthly background article in the newspaper ‘Het Financieele Dagblad’. In 2015 he published the book ‘Tussen hoogmoed en hysterie’ (in English: ‘Between pride and hysteria’), a revealing reconstruction of the fight against shale gas in the Netherlands. From 2016 to 2020, De Boer weekly gave commentary to BNR Nieuwsradio. GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM OFFSHORE WIND EPISODE SPEAKER PROFILES 4 Mr René Peters Director Gas Technology TNO René Peters is responsible for innovation in gas at TNO, a Research and Technology Organisation of the Netherlands (www.tno.nl). This includes research on production of gas, gas transport and storage, biogas, LNG and Hydrogen. He is leading the North Sea Energy program on system integration in offshore energy (www.north-sea-energy.eu). He received this PhD thesis at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 1993. He started his career at Shell Research (1993 – 1998), after which he served in several technical, commercial and managerial positions in TNO since 1999. His current position is director gas technology, where he is also managing the Dutch National Innovation Program on Geo Energy. Peters is chairman of the European Forum on Reciprocating compressors (www.recip.org). GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM OFFSHORE WIND EPISODE SPEAKER PROFILES 4 Taco Hoencamp Snr Project Manager Energy (panelist), RoyalHaskoningDHV Advising companies worldwide on water, safety, environmental and stakeholder issues, Taco Hoenkamp is RHDHV’s key expert in ESIA’s and Technical and E&S audits. Furthermore, he is a senior project manager of multidisciplinary projects in the energy and infrastructure sector. He is involved in large projects in Europe, Asia, Africa and Middle East, with scopes that include a wide range of different subjects, such as water, renewable power plants, natural gas, oil exploration and production, infrastructure and pipeline projects. From 2000 to 2008 he was based in Bangkok where he established and managed the Water and Environment department in RHDHV’s Thailand office.
