I2IT ACADEMIC BROCHURE About Us I2IT Trust and Society (formerly known as Hope Foundation and Research Centre) was established in the year 1979 with the objective of rendering social services towards nation building. It is registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 and the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as a Public Charitable Trust and a Society respectively. It was established by Late Shri. P. P. Chhabria, Founder Chairman of Finolex Group of Companies, well-known philanthropist and the former President of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA). The Trust and Society has been contributing to the field of higher education for over 20+ years and is successfully imparting quality education to the deserving students all across the globe. International Institute of Information Technology (“I²IT”), Pune has been established by the Trust in the year 2001. I²IT has always propagated ‘Innovation and Leadership’ as their mantra to bring ground-breaking ideas and provide a rock solid foundation for learning. With the vision and mission of providing quality education, the Institute is designed and constructed by world renowned architects with its uniquely designed academic building as its temple of learning. I²IT was dedicated to the service of the nation by Bharat Ratna and former President of India, Late Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on May 28, 2003. Since then it is emerging as one of the premier institutions in IT in India. International Institute of Information Technology (I²IT), Pune is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi; recognized by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt. of Maharashtra; and affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune). I2IT ACADEMIC BROCHURE Messages Late Shri Pralhad P Chhabria Founder Chairman - Finolex Group Founder President - I2IT An abiding trust in your abilities to perform, a strong determination to never give up and an unshakable belief in yourself are all you need to conquer the pinnacles of success. Ms. Aruna M Katara President - I2IT Education has to be taken to the masses; it needs to be rooted not in rote learning but in a dynamic new pedagogy that fosters innovation and the leadership mantra in each individual within the system. Flexibility and rapid adaptation to the needs of the day have to be its hallmark if we are to fulfill our vision of a Shining India’. I truly believe that the priorities for our country are Health and Education. I am grateful that we are one of the providers of these priorities. I am forever an idealist. To me, the spirit of nation building has to be at the core of our motivation if we are to break the shackles of age-old beliefs and responses. A vibrant, corruption-free India can only be built by a generation that has learnt to cherish those values our country was known for. This vision is based on idealism. Our efforts are, we know, but a drop in the ocean. Yet, I also believe that every drop in the ocean counts and these efforts can come to a wonderful fruition. We fulfill our pledge towards "Make in India!". Confucius reminded us that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. We began with tiny steps, and look forward to this journey as an adventure in learning and creating. The way ahead can only get better. 04
