Living in Rittenhouse Square you are right in the middle Extraordinarily safe -- no problems walking alone 24 of everything. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Penn but also hours per day. Convenient to groceries (though kind of an easy bus ride on the 21/42 (two of the more reliable overpriced, like everything in the area), drugstore, lots of SEPTA lines). It has become very family friendly and it is a good place to live, but the downside is that there a lot of stores have opened up that cater to young are very few restaurants/bars and other things to do couples with kids. It is a recently gentrified area so prices have been going up, and some streets are not as well-maintained, but generally safe and the location is a good in-between Penn's campus and Center City. 10

While it's a bit pricier than other housing options in the area, I think the price is totally worth the added security and convenience. The building is in great WGA President shape and has a very responsive management team. The studio apartments are massive and you can't beat in-unit laundry machines!
