itinerary Saturday, DEPART THE U.S. June 20 Today we will depart the U.S. by taking an overnight transatlantic flight to arrive in Dublin, Ireland the next morning. TRAVEL Fly Sunday, DUBLIN June 21 This morning we land in Dublin Airport. Once you go through passport control, you will ACCOMMODATION collect your bags and head out into the arrivals area where your very friendly Irish Tour Director will meet you and take you on a tour of this vibrant city including the Guinness Clayton Hotel Burlington Storehouse before checking in to your hotel. Road With a panoramic sightseeing tour of Dublin City, you will take in all the sights, sounds and deep history of this capital city. You will drive through the main thoroughfare to see historic buildings like the GPO (General Post Office) on O’ Connell Street and Trinity MEALS College which houses the Book of Kell. You will drive around the stunning Georgian Dinner Squares, such as Merrion Square, where Oscar Wilde’s house can still be found (today owned by the American College). You will see the Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe and home to Aras an Uachtarain (the Irish President’s Residence) as well as the American Ambassador’s Residence. Next we will visit the iconic Guinness Storehouse for a unique Visitor Experience. The seven-storey visitor experience tells the story of Ireland’s iconic drink and brings to life the heritage of Guinness® from early days to growth as a global brand, known all around the world. The experience starts standing at the bottom of the world’s largest pint glass, which rises through the building. It's a dramatic story that begins over 250 years ago and ends in Gravity bar where visitors will receive a complimentary pint of Guinness while relaxing and enjoying spectacular views over Dublin. Monday, DUBLIN - DUNBOYNE VALLEY June 22 Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. After your morning meal, prepare for ACCOMMODATION experience the wonders Dunboyne Valley. Our first stop on our adventure is Slane Castle & Distillery. Home to the Conyngham Clayton Hotel Burlington family since 1703, Slane Caslte is situated in a dramatic setting by the River Boyne. A tour Road of Slane Distillery takes visitors through the heritage room, barley room, cooperage, and maturation warehouse before a final stop that provides a view of pot stills and production areas. The tour concludes in the best way possible with a taste of our signature triple MEALS casked blend, Slane Irish Whiskey. Tuesday, SLIGO - GALWAY June 23 Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. After your morning meal, we will depart ACCOMMODATION Dublin and embark on a journey to Galway. On our way we will stop at the famous Marian Shrine in Knock, which received Hotel Meyrick international fame after local people reported seeing the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, and St. John the Evangelist at their parish church on August 21, 1879. Today, we will hear the remarkable story of Knock, which is told here in detail, as well as the stories of all the MEALS ordinary people who witnessed the Apparition in 1879. Wednesday, CONNEMARA June 24 Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. After your morning meal, we will tour the ACCOMMODATION majestic landscape of Connemara. Known as the "The Wild West of Ireland", Connemara is a wild region of bogland, pristine Hotel Meyrick lakes and mountains which is sparsely populated and the landscape much more open. Because the area is so remote, the Irish language and traditions have survived here and Irish is the first tongue of many of the inhabitants. We will visit the quaint but lively villages MEALS where you have all the convenience of modern everyday alongside an opportunity to step Breakfast back in time with a relaxed and friendly era. We will stop for a visit at the Connemara Marble Facetory, a museum collection of one of Ireland's oldest indigenous industries. Thursday, CLARE - LIMERICK June 25 Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. After your morning meal, we will depart ACCOMMODATION Galway and head to our next destination, Limerick. First, we will stop to see the beautiful Cliffs of Moher that stand over 700 feet high at the Clayton Hotel Limerick highest point and range for over 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean. O'Brien's Tower stands proudly on a headland of the Cliffs. On a clear day you can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head MEALS to the South. The Cliffs are home to the Puffin Bird and many other bird species, which Breakfast, Dinner you will see a lot about in the interpretation center. Afterwards, we will visit Aillwee Cave, which is is one of the oldest caves in Ireland where you can seek out an unusual mineral specimen, crystal or fossil during a stroll through the beautiful caverns – over bridged chasms, under weird formations and alongside the thunderous waterfall. You will also explore the Birds of Prey Centre which will include an in-depth audio guide explaining all about the birds, their conservation and the myths and legends surrounding these magnificent birds in Ireland. We will travel to the south of Limerick, passing through Adare - Ireland's prettiest little The Clonakilty Hotel village dotted with thatched cottages, to Newcastle West - Father O'Connor's Hometown. Saturday, WEST CORK June 27 Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning. After your morning meal, prepare for some ACCOMMODATION spectacular scenerery as your Tour Director takes you to Ireland's most Southwesternly point, Mizen Head Peninsula. After your morning meal, prepare to ACCOMMODATION depart Clonakilty and head to our last destination on this celtic adventure, the medieval town of Kilkenny. Kilkenny River Court Hotel We will sop at the village of Blarney to visit one of Ireland's oldest and greatest treasures, the Blarney Castle & Gardens. Here lies the famous Blarney Stone which is said to bestow the gift of eloquence on all those who kiss it. Climb the winding stairs of this nearly MEALS impenetrable fortress, kiss the Blarney Stone and be granted the "Gift of Gab". Explore the Breakfast, Dinner beautiful grounds and gardens that lead to Rock Close, Blarney Castle’s secret treasure. Continuing on, we won't pass Co. Tipperrary without a stop at the Rock of Cashel, a spectacular group of medieval buildings set high above the green pastures of the Golden Vale. Nestling beside is a unique 13th Century Romanesque Cormac’s Chapel as well as a round tower and a 12th century High Cross, the base of which is said to have been the inauguration stone of the Kings of Munster. MEALS We will visit KIlkenny Castle, renowned for its extensive history dating all the way back Breakfast, Dinner to 1195. As you will walk through the artfully restored rooms, chambers, gallery and rose gardens of the castle you wil feel as if you have traveled back in time. Next, is Malzards Pub Hurling Experience where a skilled local will teach you how to play the ancient Irish game of hurling in a relaxed, fun environment. You will then go to the field to the rear of the premises and practie your skills, before returning to the bar for refreshments (on - own). FInally, returning to our hotel we will meet for a farewell dinner this evening, cherishing all the memories shared on this celtic adventure. Tuesday, HOMEWARD BOUND June 30 With bags packed, enjoy Breakfast this morning. We will then head for Dublin airport where you will board your flight back to the U.S. Carry on your photos and memories as you check-in with plenty of time for your flight home.
