SALE OVERVIEW
The Magic Millions National Yearling Sales presents a very good opportunity to secure value for money
yearlings that are eligible for the $10m Magic Millions Race Series. It is an ideal time of the year to
secure a yearling with our warm Queensland winter weather offering favourable conditions to break in
and grow out purchases from this sale.
For the first time I set out to secure yearlings to go to Queensland’s leading trainer TONY GOLLAN. All
QTIS eligible yearlings were inspected given the rich bonuses that are on offer particularly for horses
winning at Metropolitan Saturday level as two and three year-olds.
Tony has matured as a trainer in recent seasons and is now particularly dominant here in Queensland.
He also has significant experience travelling horses interstate and this is compatible with our goal to
source carnival horses.

ABOUT THE YEARLING
This filly was the best QTIS eligible filly presented in the catalogue. She is a half sister to the Tony
Gollan trained I’M A RIPPA who has won close to $1.2m in prizemoney including 8 races headed by the
rich Magic Millions Handicap, Group 3 BRC Sprint & Group 3 George Moore Stakes.
FOXWEDGE is a dominant sire of top female performers.
This filly is a lovely type with clean x-rays. She is of medium size with a deep girth, good hindquarter.
She walks well and has an intelligent, feminine head.
This filly has outstanding earning potential given she is one of the few fillies eligible for both BOBS &

QTIS Bonuses in New South Wales and Queensland.
She is also one of the few horses eligible to compete in every race on the $10m Magic Millions Raceday

Most of the family race at a distance
range up to 1600m, but with an emphasis
between 1000m-1400m.
I’m A Rippa winning the Group 2 George Moore Stakes at Doomben in December 2018 This is the ideal distance range for
Metropolitan racing in Queensland.
I would argue that FOXWEDGE is a more successful sire than LOVE CONQUERS ALL, the sire of this
fillies high class half brother I’M A RIPPA.
This is a very good mating for Derippa and given the type of foal it has produced, it could prove to be the
best yet.

margin of more than 20 wins to his nearest rival. He has already won that title on a remarkable 5

A proven Group 1 winning trainer, Tony shot to prominence thanks to the Eureka Stud bred and raced
siblings Temple of Boom and Spirit of Boom. The Group 1 trophy cabinet for the ‘Boom’ duo features the

sprinter Brazen Beau. Selected, purchased and managed by Ontrack, Brazen Beau was a $70,000 yearling buy. Brazen
Beau has amassed prizemoney of over $1.4m including demoralizing Group 1 wins in the Coolmore Stakes and the time
honoured Newmarket Handicap. In the Spring of 2014, Grant secured a highly sort after multi million dollar stud deal
for Brazen Beau and his owners with HH Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley Stud.
