1. MSCA Doctoral Networks (MSCA DN) •1 single action to implement doctoral programmes, including joint and industrial degrees •Consortia • partnerships of universities, research institutions and research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors • at least three independent legal entities, each established in a different MS or AC; minimum of 1 beneficiary from a MS • Max. 40% of budget to one country •Target group • Doctoral candidates, i.e. researcher without a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment; mandatory enrolment in a doctoral programme 03.12.2020 9

MSCA Doctoral Networks •Size • Max. 360 person-months, max. 540 person-months for joint or industrial doctorates (incentive) •Duration • Programme: max. 48 months • Fellow: between 3 and 36 months • Secondments: up to 1/3 • Industrial doctorates: at least 50% in the non-academic sector; can be in the same country as the academic host organisation •Call deadlines • 2021: 16 Nov 2021 • 2022: 15 Nov 2022 • Resubmission restrictions applying as of 2022 for applications receiving a score below 80% 03.12.2020 10
2. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) • Two types of Fellowships • European Postdoctoral Fellowships and Global Postdoctoral Fellowships • The different panels under H2020 (CAR, RI, SE) will be discontinued and streamlined • Incentive of additional period of up to six months for placements in the non- academic sector • Part of the evaluated proposal • Proposed to be implemented at the end of the fellowship (more mature project results, fellow closer to next career plans) • Limitation on research experience –up to 8 years of research experience after PhD • exceptions for years outside research and years of research spent outside Europe as incentives for career restarters and Europeans who wish to reintegrate to Europe 03.12.2020 11
2. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships • Restrict resubmissions below 70% in previous HE call (2022) • Doctoral degree required at the call deadline (successfully defended) • Duration (no change): European PF: 12-24 months (could go up to 30 months in option of + 6 months in the non-academic sector) Global PF: 24 -36 months (12-24 outgoing & 12 months return phase in Europe) •Call deadlines: 2021: 15 Sept 2022: 14 Sept 03.12.2020 12

MSCA Staff Exchanges (MSCA SE) •International, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration in research and innovation through exchanging staff •Most international action under the MSCA •Consortia • Partnerships of universities, research institutions and infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors • at least 3 independent legal entities in three different countries, two of which established in a different MS or AC •Target group • Researchers at any career stage, as well as administrative, managerial and technical staff supporting R&I activities 03.12.2020 13

MSCA COFUND •Mono-beneficiary action: single entity established in MS or AC •Target groups • Doctoral candidates, i.e. researchers without a doctoral degree • Postdoctoral researchers, i.e. researchers with a doctoral degree •Duration • Programme: max. 60 months (unchanged) • Fellow: min 3 months • Secondments: up to 1/3 Size: Limited to EUR 10 million per beneficiary per call (unchanged). 3 researchers min. •Greater focus on new beneficiaries and new training programmes • Aspects of novelty to be included in award criteria •Call deadlines: • 2021: 10 Feb 2022 • 2022: 09 Feb 2023 03.12.2020 15
