EXECUTIVE SUMMARY According to Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Foreign Direct Investment Preferred Investment (FDI) inflow in Gujarat reached US$ 26.6 billion between April 2000 and March 2020. During the same period, Destination Gujarat accounted for about five per cent share of the total FDI inflow in India. During 2018-19, the state produced 4,218 million tonne of petroleum (crude) and natural gas (utilised) was Petro Capital of India 1,234 million cubic metres. Total consumption of petroleum products stood at 22.53 million metric tonnes (MMT) during 2019-20P. The Government of Gujarat, through GIDB, has prepared a vision document – Blueprint for Infrastructure in Gujarat (BIG) - 2020. Under this document, the state has identified a series of projects and investments required across the road sector to be implemented on National Highways priority basis for Gujarat’s inclusive growth. State Highways Under the State Budget 2020-21, Government has allocated Rs Railways 3,303 crore (US$ 472.17 million) has been allocated to state highways and Rs 175 crore (US$ 25.04 million) to national highways. PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE – RAILWAYS Gujarat’s total length of railway lines stood at 5,258.49 route kms, consisting of 3,506.55 kms of Broad Gauge (BG), 1,193.04 kms of Meter Gauge (MG), and 558.90 kms of Narrow Gauge (NG) lines. The rail traffic in Gujarat mainly falls under the following divisions of Western Railway: Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Ratlam, Mumbai & Ahmedabad.
