WHAT IS IPAC CANADA? ABOUT US Founded in 1976, IPAC Canada is a national multidisciplinary organization for health professionals and others involved in the prevention and control of infections across the continuum of care and the community at large. IPAC Canada provides its members with timely education opportunities, resources, tools, and publications to inspire, nurture and advance all facets of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC). The association has 19 chapters across Canada. We work in tandem with our valued Corporate Members to foster mutually beneficial relationships and unique opportunities of the highest ethical standards which align with our 2019 – 2021 Strategic Plan. Our increasingly diverse membership base reinforces the fact that IPAC issues remain at the forefront in both healthcare and industry settings. We represent healthcare providers not only in infection prevention and control, but in varied settings such as pre-hospital and emergency services, laboratories, medical device reprocessing, dental settings, public health and industry. Our Board and our members work closely with many external healthcare-centered stakeholders at the local, provincial, national and federal levels. Each year we host an exceptional National Education Conference, with a full Industry Showcase and Trade Show. Members and non-members alike from all healthcare sectors – and from across the globe – attend this incredible education and networking opportunity. You don’t want to miss it! VISION No preventable infections for Canadians - ever. MISSION We inspire, nurture and advance a culture committed to infection prevention and control. WHAT IS CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP? Corporate Membership in IPAC Canada is intended to promote education, research and collaboration through continuous professional development in infection prevention and control and related fields, and to build long lasting, productive, mutually beneficial partnerships which support Corporate Members and IPAC Canada. Corporate Members are afforded unique opportunities to build on this foundation - for example, the ability to participate on our Corporate Relations Committee (CRC). CRC members meet a minimum of two times a year with the IPAC Canada Physician Director and the Executive Director. Meetings are a forum to discuss issues of mutual concern, new opportunities mutually beneficial to Corporate Members and IPAC Canada, and of course, networking. There are four levels of Corporate Membership: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The base membership fee for Bronze Level Corporate Membership is $5000.00 (CAD$) per annum (renewable each July 1st). Depending on any additional project or conference sponsorship you contribute to IPAC Canada nationally during the year, you are advanced to a higher level and are afforded additional benefits. Additions to Corporate Members’ status/level do not include exhibit fees or chapter involvement. The ‘Corporate Member’ is the company, not the individual who represents the company. For Corporate Membership, we ask for the name of an individual who will receive communication to the Corporate Member. Each Corporate Member may also appoint one individual to receive a complimentary membership in IPAC Canada, including full membership benefits. The contact person and the member may be the same individual. THE BENEFITS OF CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP In addition to the opportunity to participate on the Corporate Relations Committee, Corporate Members enjoy numerous benefits, including: • Opportunity to present educational webinars to our members • Your logo - with hyperlink to your website - on our home page banner • Unique sponsorship opportunities at our annual National Education Conference • Preferential exhibit space and discounted rates • Advertising discounts (digital and print) in our scientific journal (Canadian Journal of Infection Control), Industry Innovations, our monthly E-newsletter, Annual Member and Source Guide and Buyer’s Guide (see https://ipac- canada.org/information-for-cjic-advertisers.php for current rates) • Use of the IPAC Canada Corporate Member Logo in your marketing materials • One complimentary Voting membership in IPAC Canada for your designated representative • Subscription to CJIC, Industry Innovations, and our internal Association News. • Receive broadcast emails sent to the membership, and our monthly E-Newsletter See page 4 for the full chart of benefits with respect to each level of Corporate Membership. CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS APPROVAL PROCESS In accordance with IPAC Canada policy (8.50.1, Corporate Membership), the intent of this membership category is to promote education, research and collaboration, and to foster long lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships between Corporate Members and IPAC Canada. These relationships are based upon an understanding of each other’s goals, and are of the highest ethical standards. Applications for new Corporate Membership are reviewed by the Executive Director and/or IPAC Canada Board members, with an eye to ensuring the products provided or manufactured by the applicant are approved by Health Canada, when required, and are relevant to current Infection Prevention and Control best practices. The reviewers also view applicants’ online presence (e.g. web site), company structure, and mandate to to ascertain if a mutually beneficial relationship is possible.
