SOCCER / SPORTIES FOR SHORTIES Fall Pee Wee & U-6 Soccer Youth (*Ages 4, 5 & 6) Volunteer Coaches & Team Sponsors Needed! Each week will consist of skills review and fundamentals followed by a scrimmage against another team with a goal of FUN! Practice and scrimmage will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each Saturday. Scrimmage games will be 3 vs 3 (6 players from each team will be playing at once on 2 short fields). Children will be placed on teams and will play a round robin schedule of games. Volunteer coaches will coach their son or daughter’s team. PEE WEE’S: AGES 4 & 5 211806-01 *Children must be 4 at start of program. Children born Saturday mornings / 7 weeks Aug. 1, 2016 - Sept. 11, 2017. See chart for cut-off dates. Registrations accepted immediately for this program MiKro Soccer Sporties for Shorties Youth (*Ages 3 - 6) Coordinator: Karen Wunschel Mikro is a fun introduction to the game of soccer for 3 - 6 year olds. PARENTS & CHILDREN AGES 3-4: Classes meet once per week for six weeks and are lead by trained Parents get to join in the fun too! FLAG FOOTBALL Fall Youth Flag Football Program Youth (Ingoing grades 1 - 5) Volunteer Coaches Needed! Join your schoolmates for some exciting Flag Football action! The goal of the Germantown Youth Flag Football program is to provide an instructional program which introduces basic skills while emphasizing teamwork. In addition, fair play, good sportsmanship and working toward a common goal will be stressed. TIP OFF TIME Youth Basketball Clinic Youth (Grades 3 - 8) Instructors: GHS Coaching Staff & Players Parents - drop your child off and head for the stores to finish that last minute shopping for the holiday season. YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES Youth Sports General Information PROGRAM GOAL The goal of our youth leagues is to provide a program that will introduce basic skills, provide instruction and emphasize teamwork in all age groups. In addition, fair play, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, team cooperation and working toward a common goal will be stressed. Winning is important, but it will not be the all-encompassing factor. UNIFORMS All league participants will receive a T-shirt, made possible through the sponsorship funds of local businesses and organizations. T-shirts and game schedules will be distributed at practice once teams have been formed. Bucketeer Basketball League Youth (Grades 3 - 6) WHO ARE THE COACHES? Volunteer Coaches Needed! Come have fun with your child while learning a little more about each other and introduce your child to the fun and fitness of basketball. This program is designed to stimulate physical activity and learn basic skills. Class includes warm ups, sport specific skill activities and simplified versions of games (does not involve keeping score or enforcing penalties). SOFTBALL / VOLLEYBALL Girls Softball Hitting Clinic Girls (Grades 2 - 8) Instructors: Dru Sumwalt and Rose Dobrogowski, GHS/Whitefish Bay Girls Softball Varsity Coaches This clinic will focus on proper hitting techniques. Each girl interested in the clinic will receive one-on-one hitting instruction as well as technique and batter’s mentality. What to bring: Each girl interested should provide her own bat, glove and helmet. Explore your village parks on this adventure as you discover unknown places. Treasure awaits the lucky family who uncovers the secret spot! The winner will receive a prize basket. Clues will be sent out over e-mail starting Oct. 4th. The quest will continue through Friday, Oct. 22nd at 4:30 p.m. If the “Great Pumpkin” is not redeemed by that time, the quest will end.
